Disney XD’s hit animated series Star Wars Rebels is adding an Academy Award-winning actor to its cast.
Forest Whitaker, who is currently starring at Rebel freedom fighter Saw Gerrera in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, is joining the cast of the animated series.
The series takes place prior to the events of Rogue One, and Whitaker will reprise his role of Gerrera. His first episode is Star Wars Rebels: Ghosts of Geonosis, Parts One and Two – which premieres on Saturday, January 7 on Disney XD.
Saw Gerrera was first introduced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and was a guerrilla fighter for his home planet. Saw received training from Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka Tano.
Star Wars Rebels airs on Disney XD.
