It’s that time of year again – time for new backpacks, new shoes, and stylish news clothes. That's right – it's back-to-school time.

This year kids can head back to the classroom with fun and stylish gear featuring their favorite characters from Disney, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and Marvel. New items from the Disney and Marvel back-to-school collection are available at Target, Walmart, Kmart, jcpenney, Forever 21, Hot Topic, and the Disney Store.

Girls are going to love the apparel inspired by Sofia the First and Doc McStuffins, in addition to the Doc McStuffins rolling backpack that features Lambie and Hallie. The “My Favorite Princess Collection” available at Kmart features Ariel on a variety of dresses, tops, and accessories. And Minnie Mouse makes a statement in the new Minnie Total Girl Collection at JCPenney, with T-shirts, hair accessories, and jewelry.

Meanwhile, boys will love the Jake and the Never Land Pirates T-shirts and rolling backpack that is perfect for preschoolers. There is also a new line of Disney’s Planes footwear and coordinating Disney’s Planes backpacks with Dusty. Older boys will want to stop by the Disney Store for Spider-Man T-shirts, supply kits, backpacks, and lunch totes.

Back to school means books, and there is a new set of Disney books to help prepare kids for going back to class, including You’re Wearing THAT to School!?!, The Classroom: Student Council Smackdown, and Oh My Godmother: The Glitter Trap. Two new apps are also debuting – Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Pain and Play and Sofia the First: Story Theater.

And not to leave out the tween set, there’s a new line of fashion, accessories, backpacks, and lunch totes inspired by Disney Channel’s Teen Beach Movie. These items are found at Target, Walmart, and Toys “R” Us. For comic book fans, Forever 21 has a new Marvel Comic Trend Shop featuring apparel inspired by Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Thor, and Hulk.

If back-to-school means it’s time to redecorate the kids’ rooms, Disney Paint by Glidden has a magical palette of colors exclusively at Walmart. The Colors with Characters line includes six palettes inspired by Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Disney Princesses, Disney Fairies, and the world of Disney/Pixar’s Cars and Monsters University.

If you want to give back during this back-to-school rush, the Disney Store is sponsoring the Boys and Girls Clubs of America national supply drive, “Tools for Back-to-School.” From August 1 through September 3, Disney Store customers are invited to donate school supplies to help support Clubs in local communities.
