Introducing Marco Nogara, Disney Cruise Line’s Newest Captain

9 June 2010 4 Comments

Christi Erwin Donnan, Manager of Public Affairs for the Disney Cruise Line, announced the latest Captain to join Disney’s fleet of cruise ships today. Marco Nogara is a native of Venice, Italy and becomes the 6th captain to join an elite group of Masters aboard the Disney Cruise Line boats. Mr. Nogara will train to familiarize himself with the shipboard and shoreside operations at Disney & eventually take the wheel as a Captain in December.

Before joining Disney, Marco was a Captain aboard Carnival Cruise Line for 12 years and carries 24 years of experience in the maritime industry altogether. Marco also reportedly has experience in the ship-building process which is convenient considering Disney has two new ships under construction; the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.

The “Disney Parks Blog” listed a few of Captain Marco’s Disney favorites…

•Disney character: Donald Duck
•Disney movie: “Toy Story”
•Disney attraction: Pirates of the Caribbean
•Disney theme park: Epcot

Best of Luck to Captain Nagora! He was Captain of the Carnival Glory when I sailed last summer. He is a great captain and is a great fit for the Disney Cruise Line.
