It’s Official – ‘Disney Infinity’ Launches in Stores Nationwide

After months of waiting, it’s finally here – Disney Infinity has launched nationwide and is now available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS.

The game was first announced in January of this year and since then fans have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this new Disney game.

In Disney Infinity, players can mix and match their favorite Disney characters and those characters come to life and play together in a virtual “Toy Box.” Players can build and customize their own virtual worlds using characters, settings, vehicles, and more.

The game also includes “Play Sets” where players can solve puzzles, explore famous locations from Disney properties, and battle enemies.

At the D23 Expo earlier this month John Blackburn (from Avalanche Studios) and John Vignocchi from Disney Interactive shared some more information about Disney Infinity.

They announced that the next Disney Infinity play set will be Toy Story, and players can play the game as Buzz Lightyear, Woody, or Jessie while embarking on an adventure to a new planet with the little green aliens. Blackburn and Vignocchi also created their own version of Disneyland in the Toy Box and their creation is available for download.

The duo also announced that other new characters coming to the game will include Jack Skellington, Rapuznel – who will be the first princess in the game, Wreck-It Raply, Vanellope von Schweetz, and Agent P.

Two new apps for Disney Infinity have also been announced – Disney Infinity: Action! and Disney Infinity: Toy Box.

With Disney Infinity: Action!, players can use the “Movie Maker” feature to bring characters to life. They will also get to co-star with Mr. Incredible, Sulley, or Captain Jack Sparrow in their very own short film. Players using the Disney Infinity: Toy Box app will be able to build and edit new worlds from the Disney Infinity Toy Box mode on their iPad.

Players will also be able to transfer any Toy Box creation between their console and iPad, so they can continue their game where they left off.

Disney Infinity: Action! is available from the App Store and the Windows Store for free, and will soon be available for Google Play. Disney Infinity: Toy Box will be released soon for iPad.
