March 2014 Merchandise Events Planned for the Walt Disney World Resort

FlowerandGarden2-613x459The Walt Disney World Resort has a great lineup of merchandise events planned for March, but the biggest event is the 2014 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.

The festival starts March 5 and runs through May 18 and features topiaries, gardens, Outdoor Kitchens, and more. And of course there is the festival-specific merchandise including topiary-inspired garden artwork, a special edition Duffy the Disney Bear, and “revealed/concealed” Vinylmation.

Several Disney artists are scheduled to appear at the festival for special appearances and signings. There is also a special Art in the Garden Weekend scheduled for March 28-30.

In addition to the Flower & Garden Festival events, Disney has other special merchandise events for guests.

Larry Dotson is scheduled to appear daily at Art of Disney in Epcot from March 5-9. Artist Greg McCullough is appearing at Art of Disney in Epcot from March 12-16 and March 26-30 to celebrate the release of his latest pieces.

March 15 is the date for the limited edition release of “Off the Page – 25 Years” at the Animation Gallery inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This artwork features Sorcerer Mickey as he conjures images from Fantasia. Several Ink & Paint artists associated with the piece will be on hand to meet guests and sign the art.

David E. Doss is scheduled to appear at the Art of Disney in Downtown Disney Marketplace on March 21-26.

And fans of Ridley Pearson will have a chance to meet the author of the Kingdom Keepers series when he makes an appearance on March 26 at Once Upon a Toy in Downtown Disney from 4-6 p.m., and again on March 27 at The Writer’s Stop inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios from 9-11 a.m.

A limited number of wristbands will be distributed for the Ridley Pearson event to guests who are at store open on the day of the signing with each purchase of Kingdom Keepers VII: The Insider. Once the wristbands are distributed the line for the event will be closed.
