Memphis Wins 2013 Old Spice Classic and Eight Teams Are Selected for the 2014 Tournament

This year’s Old Spice Classic champion is No. 22 Memphis who defeated No. 5 Oklahoma State in a comeback victory.

The Memphis team overcame a 10-point deficit at halftime to beat Oklahoma State. The win was head coach Josh Pastner’s first win against an AP Poll Top 25 team in his five seasons with Memphis.

Memphis joins other Old Spice Classic champions Gonzaga (2012), Dayton (2011), Notre Dame (2010), Florida State (2009), North Carolina State (2007), and Arkansas (2006).

The field for next year’s tournament will feature the current No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams, Michigan State and Kansas in addition to Georgia Tech, Rider, Tennessee, Marquette, Santa Clara, and Xavier.

The 2014 Old Spice Classic is scheduled for November 27, 28, and 30 at the HP Field House at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
