Merida from Disney/Pixar’s ‘Brave’ Coming to Disney Parks

Disney/Pixar’s Brave opens in theaters June 22, but the theater won’t be the only place fans will be able to see Merida, the main character from the film. Soon, she will be coming to Disney parks in a new meet-and-greet experience.

At the Magic Kingdom, Merida will be in Fairytale Garden with three cubs from the film. The setting will be inspired by her home, set in the Scottish Highlands, and children will be able to participate in fun activities like archery lessons while waiting for their chance to meet Merida. To prepare for her arrival, Rapunzel will be moving from Fairytale Garden to Adventureland on April 15.

Meanwhile, at Disneyland Park Merida and her loyal cubs will make their home near “It’s A Small World,” and children will be able to engage in similar activities as the Magic Kingdom location while waiting their turn for the meet-and-greet.

Says Creative Director Reed Jones:

These new play and greet experiences at both parks will immerse our guests in ‘Brave,’ giving them the opportunity to be a part of Merida’s Scottish clan. And we’re all excited to have the bear cubs join Merida with their silly antics, creating a whole new way to bring our beloved Disney Characters to life.
