Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade at the Animal Kingdom to End in June

disneysanimalkingdomtreeoflifeThe Animal Kingdom’s daily parade – Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade – is set to end sometime this summer according to Disney.

Construction work is continuing on the Avatar-inspired land expansion at the Animal Kingdom and the work will soon impede the viewing area and parade path.

The Avatar-inspired land is scheduled to open in 2017 and will take over and expand beyond the Camp Minnie-Mickey area. The Festival of the Lion King is moving to an all-new theater in the Africa section of the park.

Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade has been performed since October 2001 and features popular characters in their safari gear and animal-inspired puppets and floats. There is also a holiday version of the parade called Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade.

The parade will not be replaced at this time and cast members will be found jobs within Walt Disney World.

In addition to the Avatar land, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is planning to add new entertainment experiences including a nighttime spectacular at Discovery River with live music, floating lanterns, water screens, and animal imagery.

Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade is the second parade to end this year at Walt Disney World. The Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade ended in January and is being replaced by the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade at the Magic Kingdom.
