More Details Emerge About New Magic Kingdom Roller Coaster

If you were expecting something super scary, think again.  After all, this is Fantasyland.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Disney has unveiled a few more details regarding the upcoming Fantasyland roller coaster, The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.  And according to senior vice president for creative development Eric Jacobson, you probably won’t be left shaking in your boots.  “We’re thinking of this as somewhere between Barnstormer and Big Thunder,” he said.

Although plans are always subject to change, the idea centers around the story of Snow White, as the attraction takes riders deep into the diamond mines on a musical adventure, where Snow White’s defenders and friends work during the day.  A major development will be  to replicate the swinging motion of the cars, says Jacobson.

As previously mentioned, the opening of the new attraction will also signal the end of Snow White’s Scary Adventures, which will be re-themed as Princess Fairytale Hall, an area where guests can meet and mingle with their favorite princesses.

  • Would love to see another dark rider replace Snow White’s Scary Adventure. Maybe one that features a little wooden puppet? There is wasted space in Fantasyland…past It’s a Small World where the skyway station once stood. Can’t they build a princess meet and greet in that area?
