For the first time ever, a Disney/ABC Television group series will premiere on the WATCH Disney Junior app later before debuting on a network channel.

The Disney Junior animated series Sheriff Callie’s Wild West is set to debut on November 24 for verified viewer on WATCHDisneyJunior.com and the WATCH Disney Junior app. The series is also the first Western for preschool aged viewers.

WATCH Disney Junior gives viewers access to on-demand episodes of Disney Junior shows and a live stream of linear channel feed for verified viewers. Nine episodes of Sheriff Callie’s Wild West will air on WATCH Disney Junior between November 24 and January 6.

The series stars the voice of Mandy Moore (Disney’s Tangled) as Callie, a Calico cat sheriff who keeps the peace in the frontier town of Nice and Friendly Corners. Callie uses a magic lasso and cow-girl know-how to get the job done. Each episode uses Old West folklore in two 11-minute long stories that focus on being a good friend and neighbor and positive character building.

“We’re taking an exciting new step with the launch of our latest Disney Junior series, Sheriff Callie’s Wild West, on our extremely popular WATCH Disney Junior platform,” said Nancy Kanter, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and General Manager, Disney Junior Worldwide. “In this, the first Western made just for preschoolers, our audience will not only have a chance to get to know our characters and our stories more quickly by having multiple episodes to watch all at once on WATCH Disney Junior, but we are confident they will be delighted with how those stories embrace what has enthralled us for generations in western tales — strong and important role models, high stakes stories and distinctive music.”

Sheriff Callie’s Wild West will premiere on Disney Junior channels around the world in 2014.
