New ‘Rogue One’ Toy Line Introduced by ‘Star Wars’ Super Fans

rogueonetoy1The new toy line inspired by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was recently introduced by a group of Star Wars super fans.

The fans made a series of animated shorts that launched on the Star Wars YouTube channel – and the shorts featured the key toys from the new line.

The fan-created animated shorts were also part of the kick of a global UGC contest asking fans to share their own “Rogue Stories.”

“The Go Rogue campaign was designed with Star Wars fans in mind – we want them to be front and center in the run up to ‘Rogue One’ by imagining and creating their own Rogue Stories,” said Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media.

Star Wars fans have posted more than 838,000 pieces of Star Wars-related content on YouTube in the past year.

The new contest kicks off September 30 and fans are invited to share their own short stories “set in a galaxy far, far away.” The winning entries will be chosen by a panel that include Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards.

Teen and adult fans can enter the contest beginning September 30 at StarWars.com/GoRogue. Kids ages 8-12 can participate on Disney.com/MyRogueStory. Contest winners will be invited to LucasFilm to attend a screening of Rogue One.

The new line of Rogue One toys includes collections from Hasbro, LEGO, FUNKO, JAKKS Pacific, Mattel, and Disney Store. Select items will be available for pre-order starting September 2 at retail stores, Disney Store locations, and disneystore.com. The full collection will be released on September 30.
