Party for the Planet on Earth Day at the Animal Kingdom

As the Animal Kingdom prepares to celebrate its 15th anniversary on Monday – which also happens to be Earth Day – more details about the Party for the Planet have been announced.

This is one day when getting to the park early is really vital – be sure to arrive at the Animal Kingdom at 8:30 a.m. (even though the park opens at 9 a.m.) so you can be part of the 15th anniversary opening ceremony at the Tree of Life at 8:40 a.m. And when you arrive at the park, pick up your commemorative 15th anniversary map and the keepsake postcard that is your guide to the Party for the Planet.

The Party for the Planet activities include giving kids the chance to identify animals by their tracks and other clues in Africa and teaching families how using “green” products makes a difference for the environment. Stop by Rafiki’s Planet Watch and discover fun things to do in nature with activities inspired by Disneynature films African Cats, Chimpanzee, and the newest release Wings of Life.

Guests who make a donation to the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund (DWCF) at the Animal Kingdom will receive a commemorative 15th anniversary DWCF button while supplies last.

And no party is complete with special limited edition 15th anniversary Animal Kingdom merchandise, including an Earth Day 2013 pin. As always, quantities of special commemorative merchandise are limited.

Happy 15th anniversary Animal Kingdom!
