‘Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel’ to Debut on Disney Channel This August

Last year, we let you know the exciting news that the popular Disney Channel characters Phineas and Ferb would soon be joining forces with some of Marvel’s iconic superheroes. Now, we’re happy to announce that the wait for this highly-anticipated partnership is almost over, as Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel will be coming to the Disney Channel this August.

Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel marks the first true crossover animated special featuring Marvel and Disney characters, and Phineas and Ferb creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh worked closely with Marvel’s creative team to make sure the two worlds could come together in a cohesive way. As we previously announced, the animated special will be making its debut initially for a small crowd at this year’s D23 Expo prior to its television debut.

In a statement, Eric Coleman, Senior Vice President of Original Series for Disney Television Animation, said:

“The Marvel series and ‘Phineas and Ferb’ both feature strong, memorable characters and compelling stories for kids and families alike, and we’re excited to present their great match-up to Disney Channel and Disney XD viewers this summer.”

In Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel, some of our favorite Marvel superheroes–Spider-Man, Iron Man, Hulk, and Thor–find themselves in trouble when Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s “inator” robs them of their powers. When the Marvel Super-Villains learn of this and join up with Doofenshmirtz to wreak havoc on Danville, it is up to Phineas and Ferb to bring back the superheroes’ powers before the evil villains succeed in taking over the world.

Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television, commented:

“This is a real Marvel Super Hero operation. It’s an extraordinary opportunity for these two franchises to come together and create an adventure never before seen in the world of Marvel and Disney.”

Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel will air on Disney Channel on Friday, August 16 at 8:00 PM EST/PST.
