This week, Disney Channel announced the official release date for its upcoming princess movie, Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess. The movie, which is aimed at children ages 2-7, will debut on Disney Channel on Sunday, November 18 at 7:00 PM, and on Disney Junior on Thursday, November 22 at 9:00 AM.

Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess is Disney’s first princess movie aimed specifically at younger viewers. The film will feature an appearance by beloved Disney princess Cinderella, who will give Sofia some guidance on her new role as Princess Sofia the First.

Sofia the First will also be coming to the television networks as a television series in early 2013, with international Disney Channel and Disney Junior stations getting both the film and series in mid-2013. The film will feature the voice talents of Ariel Winter (Modern Family) as Sofia, Sara Ramirez (Grey’s Anatomy) as Queen Miranda, Wayne Brady (Whose Line Is It Anyway?) as Clover, and Tim Gunn (Project Runway) as Baileywick.
