Creating a budget to save money for a Disney vacation just got a little bit easier with the new Disney Vacation Account online program that was recently launched by the Walt Disney Travel Company.

The Disney Vacation Account allows guests to create a personalized budget and savings plan for vacations to the Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, and Adventures by Disney.

Getting started with a Disney Vacation Account is as easy as creating an account and then using the Budget Estimator to estimate the cost of a Disney vacation. The Budget Estimator includes links to websites that help estimate the cost of various components including accommodations, cruise fare, theme park tickets, airfare, dining, recreation, and more.

Once guests have created an estimated vacation budget and have a savings goal they can create a savings plan for your Disney vacation and start making contributions. A Disney Vacation Account can be started with an amount as little as $10 using a debit card, credit card, or Disney Gift Card. Once an account has been created, guests can check their progress using the Manage Your Account, Account Activity, and Recent Transactions sections.

The Disney Vacation Account allows users to schedule automatic contributions to take place every week, every two weeks, or every month. One-time contributions can also be made at any time.

The money saved in a Disney Vacation Account can be applied toward the payment of a Disney Vacation online or by phone. Guests are also eligible for a $20 Disney Gift Card for every $1,000 they spend on qualified vacation purchases up to a total of $500 in Disney Gift Cards.

There are no fees to set up, maintain, or manage a Disney Vacation Account and all funds deposited in the account are fully refundable. Guests can save up to $25,000 in their Disney Vacation Account.

To create a Disney Vacation Account guests must be a resident of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico and must be 18 years old (residents of Alabama and Nebraska must be 19 years old, and residents of Mississippi and Puerto Rico must be 21 years old).

This sounds like a good idea since me and my hubby come to WDW every year. It’s a shame that its only available to residents of America and not to the UK. I hope that if it takes off that it will cross the pond. I would love to use the disney savings account.
