Ben Sherwood to Succeed Anne Sweeney as President of Disney/ABC Television Group

The Walt Disney Company has announced that ABC News President Ben Sherwood will replace Anne Sweeney as co-chairman, Disney Media Networks and president of the Disney/ABC Television Group.
Sweeney recently announced that she is leaving her position in February 2015 to pursue a career on the creative side of the entertainment industry.

ABC News Anchor Bob Woodruff to Give a Keynote Address at Disney’s Veterans Institute Workshop

ABC News Anchor Bob Woodruff – who was injured in Iraq in 2006 – will give a keynote address at Disney’s first-ever Veterans Institute workshop next month.
The Veterans Institute workshop is a free event offered by Disney at the Walt Disney World Resort to inspire companies to employ servicemen and women who are transitioning to the private sector.

The Walt Disney Co. and Univision in Talks to Launch an English-Language News Channel

Both The Walt Disney Co. and Univision, the nation’s leading Spanish-language broadcaster, are considering collaborating to launch an English-language cable news channel, sources say.
Initially, the discussions between both companies were reported two weeks ago, but no further word has been heard about this potential launch. In fact, as of this writing, both a Univision and an ABC spokesperson have declined comment.

GMA Alum Ben Sherwood Named President of ABC News

 Ben Sherwood will succeed David Weston as president of ABC News, Disney announced on Friday.
In an emailed statement, the global media company said that Sherwood, 46, will head up editorial, programming, and digital operations for the news division – a natural fit for Sherwood, whose background brings a lot of diversity to the role.
