‘Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular’ Set to End on January 10 After More than 14,000 Shows

Disneyland’s live show Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular is coming to the end of its 13-year run in January.
To date the show has been performed more than 14,000 times in the Hyperion Theater in Disney California Adventure. January 10 is the last date for the Aladdin show which is being replaced by a new Frozen stage show in the summer of 2016.
More than 13 million guests have enjoyed Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular since it premiered on January 16, 2003.

New ‘Frozen’ Stage Show Coming to Disney California Adventure in 2016

A brand new stage showed based on Disney’s Frozen is coming to Disney California Adventure in the summer of 2016.
The show will replace Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular, which will have its final show on January 10, 2016.
The new Frozen show will immerse guests into the world of Frozen with new sets, costumes, special effects, and scenic transformations.
Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular debuted in January 2003 and includes an original song by Alan Menken. When it ends its run, the show will have been performed nearly 14,000 times.

Linda Larkin, the Voice of Princess Jasmine, Featured at Disneyland Half Marathon Speaker Series

Disneyland Half Marathon participants will have a chance to hear from the voice of Princess Jasmine, Linda Larkin, at the Speaker Series.
The Speaker Series takes place during the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at every runDisney event and includes speakers who are relevant to the race weekend.

Disney's 'Aladdin' Musical Gets Official Broadway Opening Date

This week brought some exciting news regarding the upcoming debut of Disney's Aladdin musical on Broadway, as it was revealed that the show will officially open at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theater on March 20, 2014.
The musical will transfer to Broadway following its pre-Broadway tryout this winter at Toronto's Mirvish Theater, where it runs from November 1 through January 5, 2014. The show will then begin previews on Broadway on February 26, 2014 prior to its official opening date.

Disney Legends Richard M. Sherman and Alan Menken – two of the world’s most celebrated songwriters and composers – will take the stage at this year’s D23 Expo 2013 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Richard M. Sherman and Alan Menken: The Disney Songbook.

‘Mary Poppins’ to Close on Broadway This March, ‘Aladdin’ to Arrive On Broadway Spring 2014

Disney will be saying goodbye to one of its Broadway productions this spring, as Disney Theatrical Productions has officially announced that Mary Poppins will be closing on Broadway this March. However, the Disney-owned New Amsterdam Theatre will not be empty for too long, as the musical adaptation of Disney’s Aladdin will arrive on Broadway in 2014.

Mickey’s Music Festival Coming to State Farm Arena

This holiday season, families will be able to enjoy a modern mix of classic Disney tunes in Disney Live! Mickey’s Music Festival.
The festival will be held at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, TX on December 27 and feature characters from Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and Toy Story singing and dancing to popular songs from each film. However, the songs have been modernized to blend hip hop, reggae, rock, pop and country influences to update the songs to resonate with a new audience.

Alton Fitzgerald White to Release ‘Disney My Way’ in October

Alton Fitzgerald White, who plays Mufasa in Broadway’s The Lion King, will be releasing his second solo album next month: Disney My Way.

Is ‘Aladdin’ Coming to Broadway?

Last weekend, Disney fans at D23’s Destination D event at the Disneyland Hotel were treated to a one-of-a-kind concert by Disney Legend and composer Alan Menken. Included in the concert were several cut songs from Aladdin that were reinstated in the show’s stage production, and in introducing one of these songs, Menken made the announcement that the show is, in fact, coming to Broadway.

Disney Launches Online Game Portal in the U.K.

Making its debut in the U.K., Disney has launched an online games portal featuring more than 300 titles based on Disney characters, t.v. shows and franchises.
Disney Games offers plenty of titles for every Disney fan, from games based on Aladdin, Ariel and Mickey Mouse to those based on Hannah Montana, The Muppets and Spider-Man. The new portal also links to other Disney properties, including their iPhone and Android hub.
