Disney Skyliner Opening Date Announced

It’s the date we’ve been waiting for – the opening date for the Disney Skyliner has been announced!
The newest transportation option at Disney World will be opening on September 29!
The Disney Skyliner will connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort (when it opens in December), and Disney’s Pop Century and Art of Animation Resorts.

Disney Skyliner Testing Underway at the Walt Disney World Resort

Disney has begun initial testing on the gondolas for the Disney Skyliner transportation system.
The Disney Skyliner is slated to open this fall and will connect Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Pop Century, Art of Animation, Disney Riviera Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
The gondolas will feature characters from several popular Disney films including: Beauty & the Beast, Frozen, Lilo & Stitch, Moana, Peter Pan, The Princess and the Frog, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Zootopia.

Disney Skyliner to Start Operations in the Fall of 2019

The Disney Skyliner is set to begin operations in the fall of 2019.
The Skyliner will transport guests between Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century, Art of Animation, and Disney’s Riviera Hotel.
The Disney Skyliner will also give guests a whole new view of Walt Disney World with great photo opportunities and new views of World Showcase at Epcot.
Workers have installed the last support tower for the Skyliner system and are starting to thread the cable for the Sklyiner.

Disney Shares Update on the Disney Skyliner System

Work continues to progress on the new Disney Skyliner transportation system at the Walt Disney World Resort, and recently Disney shared an update with guests.
The Skyliner will connect two theme parks – Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios – and four hotels, Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach Resort, and the Disney Riviera Hotel.
The stations for the Skyliner will be designed to fit into the area where they are located at the hotels and theme parks.

Four Hotels at Disney World to Remain “Dog Friendly”

Last month we reported that it appeared that the dog friendly hotels at Disney World might be ending their pilot program on October 15. But now it looks like they’ll remain “dog friendly.”
Disney’s official page listing the details for the four dog friendly hotels – Yacht Club, Art of Animation, Port Orleans Riverside, and the Cabins at Fort Wilderness – no longer has an end date listed for what was a pilot program.

Disney World’s Dog-Friendly Hotels Policy Likely to End in October

Last fall the Walt Disney World Resort started a pilot program that allowed guests to bring their dogs to stay in their hotel room at four Walt Disney World Resort Hotels.
Now it appears – based on a date on the official Walt Disney World Resort website – that the pilot program is ending on October 15, 2018.
The “Dog-Friendly Disney Resorts” page says: “This pilot program is currently available to Guests with reservations at these Disney Resort hotels now through October 15, 2018 as part of a test.”

Four Disney Resort Hotels Begin Allowing Dogs to Stay in Rooms

Starting today, October 15, four Walt Disney World Resort Hotels will begin allowing guests to have up to two dogs in their rooms during their stay.
This new dog policy is in place at Disney’s Art of Animation, Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside, Disney’s Fort Wilderness, and Disney’s Yacht Club. According to Disney this is a “test phase” of the policy.
Specific floors and/or areas of the four hotels will be designated as “pet areas.”
Guests who choose to bring their dogs will be charged a fee per night – $50 per night at …

Walt Disney World Resort Gondola System Appears to be a Reality

Back in February we told you about rumors of a gondola lift system that was rumored to be coming to the Walt Disney World Resort.
Now it appears that this new transportation system is becoming a reality for the resort.
The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that documents obtained from the Reedy Creek Improvement District confirm the project.
According to the documents, there will be six stations with three gondola lines that link Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Caribbean Beach Resort, and the area between Pop Century and Art of Animation.

Five Walt Disney World Resort Hotels Named to ‘Top 25 Hotels for Families’ List by Trip Advisor

Five Walt Disney World Resort hotels were recently listed on as some of the top 25 family hotels by Trip Advisor in their 2015 Traveler’s Choice awards.
Disney’s Art of Animation was the highest ranked Walt Disney World Resort hotel coming in seventh place on the list.
The other Disney hotels were the Wilderness Lodge (9), Bay Lake Tower (16), Port Orleans Riverside (18), and Beach Club (21).
Disney’s Aulani Resort and Spa in Hawaii was number 8.
Of the 25 hotels listed for the Traveler’s Choice awards, 17 were located in the Orlando …

Construction Starts on State-of-the-Art Laundry Facility at Walt Disney World

A new, state-of-the-art laundry facility is under construction at the Walt Disney World Resort.
The facility is being built to support the expansion of resort hotel rooms and to accommodate the adjustments in the kind of lines being used at the hotels.
The new facility is located near Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and will create 400 new jobs at Walt Disney World. These jobs include 200 construction-related jobs and 200 cast member positions including linen handlers, maintenance, and managers.
