Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will be welcoming the final phase of resort construction when “The Little Mermaid” wing opens September 15, 2012.
In the courtyard that overlooks the wing and the Flippin’ Fins pool, a gigantic statue of Ariel – surrounded by Flounder and friends – provides unique photo opportunities and is truly the highlight of the new wing.
Also overlooking “The Little Mermaid” courtyard stands a larger-than-life statue of Ursula, Ariel’s nemesis in the popular Disney film.

An important milestone for the construction of Disney’s new Art of Animation Resort in Walt Disney World was celebrated yesterday, when a “topping out” ceremony was held. The ceremony, a tradition in the construction and engineering fields, is held to celebrate when the highest piece of steel is placed on a building’s frame during construction.
