Disney Infinity 2.0 Purchase Opportunity at Once Upon a Toy in Downtown Disney

Disney is hosting a special Disney Infinity 2.0 event at Once Upon a Toy in Downtown Disney on November 1 and 2.
During the “purchase opportunity” event guests purchase the Infinity 2.0 Starter Pack featuring Merida from Disney/Pixar’s Brave and Stitch. Guests can will receive one complimentary figure with the purchase of the 2.0 Starter Pack.

Maleficent and Princess Merida to be Part of Disney Infinity 2.0

Disney’s most iconic villain and a Brave princess are set to join the roster of heroes and villanins in Disney Infinity’s 2.0 Edition.
Disney Interactive announced the addition of Maleficent and Princess Merida during a preview of Disney’s Maleficent. The live-action film opened nationwide on May 30 and stars Angelina Jolie in the title role.
The horned fairy and the fiery-haired princess will be joining The Avengers in Disney Infinity 2.0, including Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, and Hawkeye.

Adventures by Disney Takes Guests to Scotland, Home of Disney’s Princess Merida

If you’ve ever wanted to see the land that inspired Disney/Pixar’s Brave, Adventures by Disney can take you there.
The Adventures by Disney Scotland vacation takes guests to the Scottish Highland – the inspiration behind Merida’s homeland.
The trip includes a visit to the Loch Ness Exhibition Center and then families have the chance to explore Loch Ness to see if Nessie really exists.

Whimsical and Contemporary Festival of Fantasy Parade Debuts in March at the Magic Kingdom

The Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade is set to debut next month at the Magic Kingdom with 100 performers and brand new floats, all in a tribute to Fantasyland.
The parade is the first in a new generation of Disney Parks parades and includes new technology, a new musical score, and floats that are three stories tall.

Maleficent to Join the Magic Kingdom’s ‘Festival of Fantasy Parade’ when it Debuts this spring

The Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade is set to debut later this spring at the Magic Kingdom, and Disney has just announced a new float for the parade.
The float will represent Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent in the form of a 35-foot-long, 26-foot high Steampunk-inspired dragon.
The Maleficent Dragon was designed in partnership with Michael Curry, a Tony Award winner who also collaborated with Disney Parks on the Tapestry of Nations parade at Epcot, and Finding Nemo – The Musical at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Jessica Chastain Stars as Merida in Latest Disney Dream Portrait by Annie Leibovitz

The latest installment in the Disney Dream portrait series has been released and it pays homage to a very Brave Disney princess.
Photographer Annie Leibovitz’s latest portrait features Academy Award-nominated actress Jessica Chastain (The Help, Zero Dark Thirty) as Merida from Brave.
The portrait’s title is “Where your destiny awaits” and features Chastain on horseback, with Merida’s famous bow.
This portrait marks the first time that a Pixar character has been featured in the series.

The Walt Disney Company and Subway Restaurants Collaborate for Release of ‘Monsters University’ and ‘The Lone Ranger’

This summer Disney is once again collaborating with SUBWAY restaurants to celebrate the release of two highly-anticipated summer movies – Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University and Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ The Lone Ranger.
SUBWAY is the “Official Training Restaurant for Monsters Everywhere” and throughout the month of June monsters will be making cameo appearances in commercials for the restaurants, and all Fresh Fit For Kids meals will come in a Monsters University reusable backpack. The backpack comes with a code and a chance to win free tickets to see the movie.

Merida Officially Becomes Eleventh Disney Princess in Magic Kingdom Ceremony

Today was an important day for the Disney Princesses, as Merida, star of Disney/Pixar’s Brave, officially became the eleventh Disney Princess. The coronation took place during a ceremony held this morning at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
The ceremony was attended by all ten current Disney Princesses: Snow White, Aurora, Belle, Ariel, Cinderella, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Tiana, Mulan, and Rapunzel. Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas was also on hand to preside over the ceremony, and Merida was officially given the title of a Disney Princess by her mother, Queen Elinor.

Merida Set to Become an Official Disney Princess

Disney is adding one more princess to its royal roster. On May 11, Merida – the red headed princess from Disney/Pixar’s Brave – will celebrate her royal coronation at the Magic Kingdom.
Her official coronation ceremony is planned for 9:30 a.m. at Cinderella’s Castle. The current royal court of 10 official Disney Princesses is expected to attend. Guest visiting the Magic Kingdom that day are also welcome to witness the coronation.

‘Brave,’ ‘Paperman,’ ‘Lincoln’ Earn 2013 Oscars

Last night, Hollywood celebrated the performers, creators, and  at the 2013 Academy Awards. While Argo earned Best Picture, several Disney films were also honored with Oscars at the ceremony, which also included an appearance by the cast of The Avengers.
Following its wins at the BAFTAs, Golden Globes, and Annie Awards, Disney/Pixar’s recent film Brave earned the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Co-directors Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman accepted the award, making Chapman the first woman to earn an Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
