Disney California Adventure Set to Remove Iconic Letters

Make way for progress:  crews will begin removing the giant letters that spell out “California” at Disney’s California Adventure on Tuesday, January 4.
The letters, which are over 11 1/2 feet tall, sit in front of the park entrance, adjacent to the turnstiles.  Visitors often snap pictures there before traipsing off to attractions, and the letters are often decorated to reflect the events of the season.

Disneyland Resort Receives Another Award for Saving Water

Once again, Disney has been recognized for its commitment to environmental responsibility.
On Tuesday,  The California Stormwater Quality Association honored Disney during its sixth annual awards luncheon, for efforts to reduce storm water runoff and the pollution that runoff causes to our waterways and oceans.  Disney was among five recipients of this year’s award.
The popular tourist attraction has created a program to diminish significantly the amount of water that empties into storm drains and the ocean by utilizing a porous asphalt.  The porous material allows rainwater to seep into the ground, rather than running over paved …

Earthquake Traps Guest in Disneyland Hotel Elevator

Sources are reporting that a 6.9 scaled earthquake hit Baja California at 3:40pm. Jarring cities as far away as San Diego, CA; and Phoenix, AZ.
The quake was centered about 16 miles south-southwest of Guadalupe Victoria and about 108 miles from Tijuana, Baja California, authorities said.
KABC-TV is currently reporting that a woman is trapped in an elevator at a Disneyland hotel.
