Sophia Loren Lends Her Voice to ‘Cars 2’ International Releases

While many Disney/Pixar fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Cars 2 in the United States in just a few more weeks, international fans have something else to look forward to about the new film. Actress Sophia Loren will be lending her talents to the film as a voice actor in many of its international releases.

First Still Available from Disney Pixar’s ‘Brave’

We have a copy of the first still available from the upcoming Disney Pixar release, Brave.  Thanks to The Pixar Blog for posting it. 
While it isn’t clear if the still comes from the teaser trailer that will be released with Cars 2, it is our first glimpse of Princess Merida, the heroine of the film, voiced by actress Kelly McDonald.
Brave is due in theatres during the summer of 2012.

Disney Pixar Confirms ‘Brave’ Teaser Attached to ‘Cars 2’

Audiences will have their first look at Disney Pixar’s Brave this summer when Cars 2 hits theatres in June.
Pixar’s latest film is the innovative studio’s first foray into serious historic storytelling, as the tale is set in Scotland during medieval times, and will feature a heroine in the lead.
Look for the theatrical trailer, which will be a teaser, when Cars 2 arrives in theatres June 24.

Update: Disney’s Response to ‘Cars 2’ Lawsuit

More updates have surfaced regarding the Cars 2 lawsuit that screenwriter Jake Mandeville-Anthony brought against Disney/Pixar, claiming that Pixar stole the idea for Cars from him. Last week, The Walt Disney Company responded to the lawsuit, denying “each and every one of Plaintiff’s legal claims concerning purported copyright infringement and substantial similarity of the parties’ respective works.”
While Disney had originally applied for an extension of their time to respond, on Wednesday a judge rejected their application.
According to sources, Mandeville-Anthony registered his works with the U.S. Copyright Office in September 2010, …

Construction crews have been hard at work renovating Disney California Adventure in time for the opening of The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure on June 3, and the revamped Paradise Pier July 1 – but the upcoming Cars Land has been given a lot of attention, too!

New Animator Added to Pixar Speaker Sessions for Pixar’s 25th Anniversary Weekend

I have some exciting news for you today, Pixar fans! A new animator has been added to the Pixar Speaker Sessions at Pixar’s 25th Anniversary Weekend at Epcot, taking place this weekend (May 13-15.)
Scheduled for May 15, Supervising Animator Shawn Krause is scheduled to replace Michael Giacchino at the 6 p.m. special presentation at the World Showplace. ‘Cars 2’ Lawsuit Heats Up with Recent Developments

In March, we told you about the lawsuit brought against Disney/Pixar  by screenwriter Jake Mandeville-Anthony, who claims that Cars and Cars 2 and were based on characters and a story he had developed. Now, a few developments have surfaced regarding the lawsuit and Mandeville-Anthony’s claims.

Sneak Peek of ‘Cars 2: The Video Game’

If you can’t wait for Cars 2: The Video Game, which will be released June 21, check out this sneak peek of the trailer.

John Lasseter Talks About ‘Brave’ and Potential for an ‘Incredibles’ Sequel

Pixar has been notorious for shying away from sequels for many years, with the exception of the Toy Story franchise and the much-anticipated Monsters University, (the sequel to the smash hit Monsters, Inc.), as well as the upcoming Cars 2.
