Singer Sheryl Crow recently stopped by Disney California Adventure’s Cars Land with her sons Wyatt and Levi. The trio posed for a photograph, and you’d be hard pressed to tell which of them seems more excited about exploring Radiator Springs!
For those of you who are fans of the Cars film, you may remember that Crow performed the opening song “Real Gone” from the film, so I am sure walking through Cars Land was a real treat for Sheryl and her boys.

Children at ten nonprofits in Southern California recently got a dose of Disney magic, thanks to a recent donation by the Disneyland Resort. This week, Disneyland donated thirty of their special Lightning McQueen Power Wheels to the local nonprofits, which include the Children’s Hospital of Orange County, Orange County Ronald McDonald House, and the Anaheim Family YMCA.

For the past year, the Pixar Play Parade has been on hiatus during Disney California Adventure’s expansion efforts. Now, however, the parade will be returning this summer with a few exciting changes.
The parade will still feature classic Pixar characters and worlds from such movies as Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, Toy Story and Cars to name a few, but long-time fans of the parade will notice some changes. Sources say that the Disney Store has discontinued all CARS Ridemakerz stations in every Imagination Park-model location, with the exception of their flagship store in Times Square. Most recently, the Florida Mall store in Orlando shuttered its doors on Monday without much fanfare.
Many cast members have said that initial sales of the Ridemakerz cars were very popular, but have since dwindled to almost nothing. If you were a fan of being able to create your own customized vehicle, though, fear not – Ridemakerz still has a location in Downtown Disney.

Disney/Pixar’s Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter will be getting his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The director of Toy Story and Cars will be honored during a special ceremony in front of the El Capitan Theatre November 1 at 11:30 a.m., where he will receive his star and become star number 2,453 on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Currently, Lasseter is overseeing the creation of Cars Land, an addition to Disney’s California Adventure theme park set to debut next summer. He also directed this year’s Cars 2.

Disney’s highly anticipated Art of Animation Resort now has a scheduled date when the first wing will open. On May 31, 2012, the “Finding Nemo” wing will open its doors to the public. Other wings, which include “The Little Mermaid,” “The Lion King,” and “Cars” are expected to open later that year, as well.
The resort, which is located next to Disney’s Pop Century Resort, will include 1,120 family suites and 864 regular rooms, which will start at $248 and $94 respectively.
