‘Avengers’ Stars to Present at the Academy Awards

Last summer, Marvel’s The Avengers took the world by storm and became the highest grossing Disney movie of all time. Before the talented cast reunites for the film’s sequel in 2015, however, many of the Avengers will soon be assembling once more at this year’s Academy Awards.

Russo Brothers in Final Negotiations to Direct ‘Captain America’ Sequel

The executive producers of Community and Happy Endings, Joe and Anthony Russo, are currently in final negotiations to direct the Captain America sequel.
Chris Evans will be reprising his role as the title character, and Samuel L. Jackson has also been confirmed to return as S.H.I.E.L.D. leader Nick Fury. Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the scribes who worked on the first film, have also created the script for the sequel.
Captain America 2 will debut in theaters April 4, 2014.

Marvel to Release ‘Captain America’ Sequel in 2014

While superhero fans are gearing up for the exciting debut of The Avengers in theaters this May, Marvel recently announced a new film that fans will be able to look forward to in 2014. Last summer’s hit film Captain America: The First Avenger will be getting a sequel, set to premiere in theaters on April 4, 2014.
The sequel, which will once again star Chris Evans as Captain America, will pick up where The Avengers leaves off, with Captain America continuing his work with Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson) …

‘The Avengers’ Will Close the Tribeca Film Festival Next Month

The Tribeca Film Festival (TFF) will be closing the fest with Marvel’s The Avengers on April 28. Additionally, TFF will be honoring local heroes from the U.S. Military, fire departments, first responders and police agencies by inviting them to attend the festival and meet the cast of the film.

Disney’s ‘The Avengers’ to be Released in 3D

While previously announced to be released only in 2D, Walt Disney Studios said last week that The Avengers will also be released in 3D when the movie debuts May 4, 2012.
The Avengers has a star-studded cast, including Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Evans as Captain America, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner and Tom Hiddleston as villain Loki, who is Thor’s half brother.

Task of Making Chris Evans’ ‘Captain America’ Scrawny Proves Challenging

When Marvel’s Captain America hits the big screen this Friday, audiences will most likely be amazed at the central character’s startling transformation.
According to the well-known story, the character of Captain America starts out as an underweight kid, who is interested in serving his country in the fight against the Nazis during World War II.  To accomplish that, he’s given an experimental serum that transforms his 90-pound frame into a six-foot tall, well muscled form.

Marvel Releases ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ Theatrical Trailer

Thanks to Blue Sky Disney for the heads up that Marvel released its extended theatrical trailer for “Captain America:  The First Avenger” last week.  This spot is set to debut this weekend in theaters with the film “Sucker Punch.”
After viewing the trailer, and with not so much as one single read of a Captain America comic book, may I just say….whoa.
