Marvel Reveals 'Avengers 2' Title and More at San Diego Comic-Con

The 2013 San Diego Comic-Con was held this weekend, and, as usual, Marvel Studios did not disappoint as they presented their upcoming films to fans. In addition to giving fans a sneak peek at some exclusive footage from Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Guardians of the Galaxy, the presentation also revealed the title of the highly anticipated sequel to The Avengers.

Disney Announces ‘Phineas and Ferb’ and ‘Star Wars’ Crossover Special

This summer, Disney Channel’s popular duo Phineas and Ferb will join up with some of the iconic Marvel superheroes in the new crossover special Phineas and Ferb: Mission Marvel. However, that won’t be the only crossover for the hit series, as it was announced this week that Phineas and Ferb will soon travel to the world of Star Wars.

New Disney Villain Coming to ABC’s ‘Once Upon A Time’

During Saturday’s Comic-Con panel, a new Disney villain was revealed to be coming to ABC’s Once Upon A Time – Captain Hook!
This character addition was hinted at throughout the panel, but was finally revealed during a surprise clip played at the end. Once Upon A Time’s executive producer Edward Kitsis said Peter Pan was his favorite fairy tale, so it’s no surprise that the villainous Captain Hook will be making an appearance in upcoming episodes.

HGTV and Disney Collaborate to Create ‘Frankenweenie’ Inspired Garden at Comic-Con International

HGTV and Disney have collaborated to create a garden inspired by Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie, which will be on display at Comic-Con International in San Diego, CA.
The Electrifying Garden will transform the 3,500 square-foot Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter lawn and will be open for visitors between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. The garden will showcase more than 20 dark plants amid low-lying fog, tombstones and other odd elements to fit with the pet cemetery theme.

Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard at Comic-Con to Promote ‘Kick Buttowski’ Cartoon

Although easily one of the tallest attenders at Comic-Con this weekend, Dwight Howard wasn’t looking to stand out necessarily…he was there to promote his cartoon and character, like so many other celebrities.

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 Comic-Con Teaser

Would you care to join Captain Jack Sparrow on a search for the Fountain of Youth? Apparently you’ll need to be wary of zombies! (?)
At San Diego Comic-Con‘s Tron:Legacy panel, Pirates star Johnny Depp was showcased in a short teaser for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The teaser, shown below, has Depp’s character — Captain Jack Sparrow — recruiting you to be in his crew on his next adventure.

While the plot details are nothing new, it’s always good to see Captain Jack in action!

Fantagraphics Will Publish Complete Run of Gottfredson “Mickey Mouse” Comics

More Disney news emerged from this year’s San Diego Comic-Con yesterday, as it was announced at the Comics Reprint Revolution panel that Fantagraphics Books will partner with Disney to publish Floyd Gottfredson’s “Mickey Mouse” comic strips. The strip, which will be published in its entirety by Fantagraphics, originally ran daily from 1930 to 1975.
In an interview with Techland.com, publisher Gary Groth described the Mickey Mouse depicted in the early comic strips and commends Gottfredson’s illustration of the Mouse. He says:
