Disney Channel and Disney XD fans headed to Comic-Con International next month certainly have a lot to be excited for. Disney recently announced the events that Comic-Con guests will be able to attend at the annual four-day long convention held in San Diego, CA. The offerings will include panels, special experiences, and screenings, giving fans a deeper look into their favorite Disney Channel and Disney XD shows.

At San Diego Comic-Con’s Tron:Legacy panel, Pirates star Johnny Depp was showcased in a short teaser for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The teaser, shown below, has Depp’s character — Captain Jack Sparrow — recruiting you to be in his crew on his next adventure.
While the plot details are nothing new, it’s always good to see Captain Jack in action!

More Disney news emerged from this year’s San Diego Comic-Con yesterday, as it was announced at the Comics Reprint Revolution panel that Fantagraphics Books will partner with Disney to publish Floyd Gottfredson’s “Mickey Mouse” comic strips. The strip, which will be published in its entirety by Fantagraphics, originally ran daily from 1930 to 1975.
In an interview with Techland.com, publisher Gary Groth described the Mickey Mouse depicted in the early comic strips and commends Gottfredson’s illustration of the Mouse. He says:

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, fans looking forward to Disney’s new movie “Tron: Legacy” were not disappointed. The movie, which debuts in theaters on December 17th, is so omnipresent at the convention this year that it has earned the nickname “Comic-Tron.” It was spotlighted yesterday at a Q & A panel with its creators and stars, where attendees were also treated to footage of the film and a premiere of its newest trailer.
