ESPN Named Official Broadcaster for Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles 2015

ESPN was recently named the official broadcaster of the world’s largest sports and humanitarian event – the 2015 Special Olympics World Games.
The announcement was made by the network and the 2015 Special Olympics World Games Organizing Committee.
ESPN plans to cover the World Games in English and Spanish via networks in the United States, Mexico, Spanish-speaking Latin America, the Caribbean, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The network will also be producing the opening ceremony for the games.

ESPN and Disney Team Up with Special Olympics for Two-Year Global Initiative

Disney and ESPN recently announced a new two-year global initiative with Special Olympics. The initiative aims to unite people with and without intellectual disabilities thought the Special Olympics Unified Sports program.
The two companies – Disney and ESPN – have a 30-year commitment to Special Olympics and this new partnership includes a multi-million dollar financial and in-kind investment that supports Special Olympics’ goal of registering one million Unified Sports participants by 2015.
The Unified Sports participants will include athletes (individuals with intellectual disabilities), teammates (individuals without intellectual disabilities), and coaches.
