Video: Disney Stars Hang Out on the Empire State Building to Showcase New Shows and Movies on Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior

Several Disney Channel stars are in New York City, taking over the top of the Empire State Building in order to help showcase upcoming content across Disney’s family of channels.
Stars Debbie Ryan (Jessie,) China Anne McClain (A.N.T. Farm,) Laura Marano (Austin & Ally,) Tyler James Williams and Coco Jones (Let It Shine,) and Tyrel Jackson Williams from Lab Rats were on hand for the celebration.

‘Teen Beach Musical’ Coming to Disney Channel Next Year

A new Disney Channel Original Movie, Teen Beach Musical, will be coming to the airwaves sometime in 2013.
While not much is known about this movie thus far, we do know that it will be a modern-day take on the classic beach musicals from the 1960’s.

‘Jessie’-Inspired D-Signed Collection Debuts at Target

Disney and Target announced this week that young fans of the hit Disney Channel show Jessie will now have the chance to incorporate main character Jessie Prescott’s style into their own wardrobe. The new Jessie Prescott Collection from D-Signed captures the bubbly, fearless personality of the show’s main character with some of spring’s hottest trends.
The collection, which is available exclusively at Target stores and through Target.com, features “bold patterns, colorful designs, and layered pieces.” Here is the official description of the new clothing line:

Disney Star Bella Thorne to Sign Autographs at Charleston Town Center in West Virginia This Weekend

Best known for her role as Cece on the Disney Channel show Shake It Up, Disney star Bella Thorne will be attending a free meet-and-greet session at Charleston Town Center in West Virgina on Saturday.
The event will take place in Center Court, and will also feature a performance by local teen dance group U-crew. The first 300 guests in line for autographs will receive a free signed photo, but guests may also bring their own items for Bella to sign. However, she will only sign one item/photo per person.

Jake and the Neverland Pirates Returns for a Third Season

The popular preschool series Jake and the Neverland Pirates, which airs on Disney Channel, has been renewed for a third season.
In fact, the series is the top ranked series in cable among boys ages 2-5, and the best preschool show in Disney Channel history among total viewers and kids ages 2-5.

Disney Creates New Dance for ‘Platypus Day’

The Disney Channel has created a new dance specifically for Platypus Day, the holiday the network created that celebrates Perry the Platypus from the hit show Phineas and Ferb.
Platypus Day lands on Saturday, March 3, and the new dance will coincide with the holiday along with the song “The Platypus Walk,” which will feature a fun surf-rock sound and the accompanying dance. The song debuted yesterday on Radio Disney, and Disney Channel’s website will include a tutorial teaching viewers the dance steps.

New Senior Vice President of Disney Channels Worldwide Announced

The former senior vice president and general manager of Radio Disney Sean Cocchia has been promoted to the senior vice president of business operations and general manager at Disney Channels Worldwide, sources say.
Gary Marsh, the president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide, announced the promotion last week. Cocchia will work with Marsh to optimize the business operations for the company across several different platforms, including Disney XD, Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Radio Disney.

Disney Channel to Offer Special Black History Month Programming

This month, the Disney Channel will be airing special interstitials to celebrate Black History Month.
These original shorts will showcase children from the Challengers Boys and Girls Club Of Los Angeles as they share their hopes and dreams, along with what inspires them and how they want to change the world. The shorts are part of the Disney Channel’s This is Me series.

Disney Channel Star Stefanie Scott Honored with Hand Print Ceremony

Earlier this month, Disney Channel star Stefanie Scott was honored with a hand print ceremony at Planet Hollywood Orlando.
The 15 year old plays Lexi on the Disney Channel series A.N.T. Farm, but got her start in a production of Annie. Since then, Scott has gone on to star in several commercials, print work, vocal performances and theater productions.

Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Radio Rebel’ Premieres February 17

Up and coming Disney starlet Debbie Ryan stars in the latest Disney Channel Original Movie Radio Rebel, which premieres Friday, February 17. Ryan also stars in the Disney Channel series Jessie.
She plays Tara Adams, a shy high school student who secretly lets her rebellious persona show through when she begins hosting a nightly podcast where she plays music and empowers the other students with her messages to “be yourself.”
Eventually, Tara’s two lives collide and she is faced with the decision to reveal that she is Radio Rebel.
