Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Pledge up to $1 Million to Protect and Resort Wildlife Habitats

When guests visit Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom they’ll have a chance to help Disney Conservation and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts protect and restore animal habitats.
Guests can unlock the contributions by participating in conservation missions while exploring Pandora, and will be able to choose which animals will receive the donations.
The program – Connect to Protect – was officially announced Thursday morning during a press event to launch Pandora.

Support Conservation Efforts on Earth During Visits to Pandora – The World of Avatar

Guests visiting Pandora – The World of Avatar beginning May 27 can support conservation efforts while visiting the new immersive land.
Connect to Protect is a new “mobile adventure” for guests where they can participate in missions on Pandora and help protect at risk animals on Earth.
Guests who are using the My Disney Experience app can instant message one of Pandora’s ecological specialists – Fistimti “Fits” Buckley – once they enter Pandora. Fits will then guide guests around Pandora while sharing conservation messages.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Celebrating Earth Day with the Party for the Planet

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is celebrating Earth Day 2015 with the Party for the Planet on April 22.
The party includes two special research stations – one at Rafiki’s Planet Watch and the other at the main entrance to the Animal Kingdom.
These research stations will give guests a chance to experience behind-the-scenes footage from Disneynature’s Monkey Kingdom in addition to exploring how technology is used in conservation efforts.
