AquaDucky Derby on Board Disney Cruise Ships to Benefit Make-A-Wish International

The very first AquaDucky Derby rubber duck race happened recently in the pools and water coasters on Disney Cruise Line ships to benefit Make-a-Wish International.
Disney Cruise Line guests and crew decorated thousands of rubber ducks for the race. On the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy the ducks were placed at the top of the AquaDuck and 10,000 gallons of water rushed into the water coaster, sending the ducks racing through the tunnel before reaching the finish line.

Disney Magic Earns Top Honors in Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers Choice Awards

The votes were tallied for Conde Nast Traveler’s 2013 reader’s poll for Top Cruise Ships in the World, and the Disney Magic earned top honors!
Disney Cruise Line’s oldest ship, the Disney Magic, took the number one spot in the polls. Meanwhile, the Disney Wonder placed at number two, the Disney Dream at number three and the Disney Fantasy ranked in 8th place.

Disney Dream Rescues Two People from Distressed Boat

Last week, crew members from the Disney Dream rescued two people from a vessel in distress, sources have reported.
The cruise ship responded to a distress call from the vessel in the Bahamas, where they rescued two U.S. citizens who were on board the small watercraft. Spokeswoman Rebecca Peddle said the people were immediately brought on board the Disney Dream and given food and medical attention.
Once the people were on board, the cruise line notified the U.S. Coast Guard and the passengers were brought to Port Canaveral aboard the Disney Dream. …

Disney Cruise Line Itineraries  for 2014 Announced

Disney Cruise Line have recently announced their 2014 itineraries, which will give vacationers even more chances to explore Castaway Cay or combine their cruise with a trip to Walt Disney World Resort to explore the New Fantasyland.
The Disney Magic will return to Port Canaveral, FL and sail three and four-night Bahamanian cruises along with the Disney Dream. Meanwhile, the Disney Fantasy will continue their seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises out of Port Canaveral.

Disney Fantasy Gets Decked Out in Holiday Decor

This year will mark the first holiday season for the Disney Fantasy, and guests can expect to enjoy a bit of holiday magic while aboard – including a 20 foot Christmas tree in the ship’s Atrium lobby.
The video below shows highlights from the festivities, including an appearance from beloved Disney character Goofy. The Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and Disney Magic have also undergone their holiday transformations, as well.

Disney’s Fantasy Cruise Ship has slower than expected first three months

Disney’s 1,250-room luxury cruise ship, The Fantasy, has not been as busy as expected during its inaugural first three months, particularly when compared to its sister ship, The Disney Dream. Port Canaveral passenger records reveal the occupancy rate for Disney’s Fantasy has averaged 132.7 percent during its first three months of operation, well behind the 152.1 percent occupancy that the Dream averaged during its first three months of sailing in 2011.

Disney Fantasy Sails into Port Canaveral

On Monday, Mickey Mouse and all his friends celebrated the arrival of the Disney Fantasy as it sailed into Port Canaveral.
Disney’s newest ship was met with an early-morning fireworks show, and was recently christened in New York City. Now in its home port, the Disney Fantasy will be awaiting its maiden voyage, which embarks March 31, 2012. The ship can hold up to 4,000 passengers and will be sailing 7-night cruises to the Caribbean.

Disney Fantasy Cruise Ship Booking as Well as the Disney Dream

According to reports, booking for the Disney Fantasy, the cruise line’s newest ship, is filling up equally as well as the year-old Disney Dream.
Says Disney Co. Chief Financial Officer Jay Rasulo:
We are very bullish on the overall economics of that business.. the [Disney Fantasy] is booking equally well [as the Dream.]
The Disney Fantasy arrived in New York on Tuesday for its official christening ceremony, and will sail from Port Canaveral on its maiden voyage March 31, 2012.

Disney Fantasy Leaves Germany Headed for New York City

Disney’s latest cruise ship, the Disney Fantasy, is headed for its home port of Canaveral, Florida, but not before stopping in New York City for its christening ceremony.
The ship left Germany on February 16, and is scheduled to arrive in New York City on March 1, and after being christened, will head down the East Coast and arrive in Port Canaveral on March 6.  The Fantasy will join its sister ship, the Disney Dream, in voyages to the Caribbean.
