Yesterday, it was announced that Disney Cruise Line was awarded several honors by the 2011 Cruise Critic Editors’ Picks Awards. Among the award winners was the Disney Dream, Disney’s newest ship, whose maiden voyage set sail earlier this year. The Disney Dream picked up the “Best New Ship” award along with the “Best Inside Cabins” award.
For overall best inside cabins, the Disney Cruise Line picked up that award as well.

Beginning Novemeber 19, Disney Cruise Line will kick off the holiday season with three Thanksgiving voyages, including the Disney Magic Eastern Caribbean cruise; the Disney Wonder Mexican Riviera cruise, and the Disney Dream Bahamanian cruise. There will be plenty of on-board Thanksgiving-themed activities for guests, and Mickey, Minnie and pals will even make an appearance in their finest Thanksgiving attire!

It’s become quite a tradition within Disney Cruise Lines to immortalize a Disney characters by having them adorn the sterns of each ship in playful fashion. So far, we’ve seen Goofy touching up the paint on the Magic, Donald working on the Wonder (with a little “help” from one of his nephews), and Sorcerer Mickey “magicking” the work done on the Dream.

Disney Cruise Lines has continued to share additional information regarding its newest ship, the Disney Fantasy. The lastest edition to be added to the popular fleet of cruise ships is currently under construction in Papenburg, Germany.
The Fantasy will introduce many new dining and entertainment options, including an animated, interactive dinner show and re-imagined nightlife district for adults, as well as new stage shows that are currently being developed for the new ship exclusively. However, Disney also plans to distinguish the Fantasy from its sister ship, the Disney Dream, through decor.

It just became a little easier to ride Aqua Duck if you’re a kid.
Previously, Disney Cruise Line required that all riders of its water roller coaster, which made its debut on the recently christened Disney Dream, be 48 inches or taller. As of last Thursday, however, the height requirement has been lowered to 42 inches. But riding solo? You have to measure in at 54 inches tall and be at least seven to have the inner tube all to yourself.
