Disney Cruise Line have recently announced their 2014 itineraries, which will give vacationers even more chances to explore Castaway Cay or combine their cruise with a trip to Walt Disney World Resort to explore the New Fantasyland.

The Disney Fantasy sustained some damage due to Hurricane Sandy, reports have announced. While the terrified passengers who were aboard the ship during its tumultuous journey took to the internet to write about their experiences, Disney Cruise Line downplays the damage.
Rebecca Peddie, manager of public affairs for Disney Destinations, said:
Overall, the ship is fine and is currently out sailing a seven-night Western Caribbean voyage. We had minor damage involving some cracked windows and some furniture damage that we have addressed.

Disney’s 1,250-room luxury cruise ship, The Fantasy, has not been as busy as expected during its inaugural first three months, particularly when compared to its sister ship, The Disney Dream. Port Canaveral passenger records reveal the occupancy rate for Disney’s Fantasy has averaged 132.7 percent during its first three months of operation, well behind the 152.1 percent occupancy that the Dream averaged during its first three months of sailing in 2011.

We let you know a few weeks ago about the economic impact of the current Disney Parks expansions, but new information has recently come out that Disney Cruise Line will be a source of many new jobs as well. Last Friday, Disney Cruise Line celebrated the arrival of its newest ship, the Disney Fantasy, to Port Canaveral with a donation of $250,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. A special check presentation from Disney Cruise Line to the organization was held onboard the ship, and children from the Boys & Girls Clubs were invited onto the Disney Fantasy to discover some of the magical details and children’s play areas that this brand-new ship has to offer.
