Christian Louboutin Collaborates with Disney for ‘Cinderella’ Shoe

Renowned shoe designer Christian Louboutin will be collaborating with Disney to come up with his own version of the iconic glass slipper from Disney’s Cinderella.
The shoe will be formally revealed this summer, and was designed to celebrate Disney’s re-release of the classic film on DVD and Blu-ray this fall. Says Louboutin:
I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world.

New “Families Legend” Trailer for ‘Brave’ Released

If you can’t wait until Disney/Pixar’s Brave premieres in theaters, you can catch a sneak peek with the new “Families Legend” trailer that has just been released.
Set in Scotland, Brave follows the story of young Merida, who defies the age-old tradition of marriage in order to carve her own path in life. When she unwittingly unleashes chaos in the kingdom, she must discover what it truly means to be brave.

‘John Carter’ Star Taylor Kitsch Has No Regrets About the Box Office Flop

Despite the dismal profit numbers for Disney’s sci-fi adventure flick John Carter, the star of the film, Taylor Kitsch, has no regrets.
It remains unclear whether Disney will produce any sequels to the film, but Kitsch made it known that he would be completely on board if such a thing were to occur. Says Kitsch:

Disney Losing $200 Million on ‘John Carter’

After a disappointing $30.2 million opening weekend, profits weren’t looking good for Disney’s sci-fi flick John Carter.
Sources say the film reportedly took $250 million to produce, and another $100 million to market. Despite the dismal opening weekend, Disney hoped that the hype would prove profitable, especially when the film earned a B+ rating from CinemaScore audiences. That proved not to the the case, however, since John Carter plummeted 55% last weekend.

New Extended Trailer and Poster Released for ‘Brave’

This week, Disney and Pixar brought us a brand-new look at their upcoming film Brave with the release of a brand-new poster and trailer for the film. The poster features the film’s star, Princess Merida, a Scottish princess who is unhappy with the path of marriage that she is expected to follow.

Disney Films Coming to China’s You On Demand Service

On Wednesday, China’s video-on-demand service You On Demand reached an agreement with The Walt Disney Company to show Disney films, ranging from classic titles such as The Lion King and Mary Poppins to more recent flicks like War Horse.
The movies will be available via their subscription service, and Chinese viewers can expect to shell out anywhere from $1 to $3 to watch the Disney films.

Disney to Adapt ‘Coach’

Sources announced that Disney has recently optioned Michael Lewis’s novel, Coach: Lessons on the Game of Life, which is based on a true story about Lewis’s baseball mentor Coach Fitz.
Lewis, who has several sports-themed scripts under his belt including Moneyball and The Blind Side (of which he wrote both books the films were based on,) will also be penning the script for Coach. Gil Netter will produce.

Saoirse Ronan to Star in Disney’s Live-Action ‘Snow White’

The Irish actress Saoirse Ronan, who recently starred in the action flick Hanna, is slated to star in Disney’s action-focused take on the cartoon classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
Dubbed Snow and the Seven, the live-action film takes place in 19th century China, with the “seven dwarves” being a group of international warriors from various countries. In order to defeat an evil empress who has re-emerged, the group will be led by a lone woman named Olivia Sinclair, the role Ronan will play.
