Disney Channel Teams with the American Red Cross to Help Families Prepare for Emergencies

September is National Preparedness Month and Disney Channel has once again teamed with the American Red Cross to share vital information with families.
Disney Channel star Cameron Boyce stars in a new disaster-preparedness video that is currently airing on Disney Channel. The video was created to help teach kids and their families the importance of being “emergency ready.”

Disney Friends for Change Aims to Provide More Grants in 2014

The Disney Friends for Change program has, to date, funded more than 630 youth-led service projects and programs. And they’re aiming to do even more.
This year, Disney Friends for Change wants to distribute 150 grants of $500 and $1,000 for service projects that will take place on or around Global Youth Service Day (April 11-13).

Disney Friends for Change Continues to Stand Up Against Bullying with New TV Spots Featuring Disney Channel Stars

As part of their ongoing discussion on bullying prevention, Disney Friends for Change is launching a new anti-bullying interstitial on Disney Channel.
The new television spot features Austin & Ally star Raini Rodriguez and a group of young women who participated in Free the Children Leadership Academy in Los Angeles. The spot debuted on November 8 on the Disney Channel.

Disney Channel Stars Participating in National Bullying Prevention Month Campaign

October is National Bullying Prevention Month and some of the biggest stars on Disney Channel are participating in anti-bullying messages set to air on the network.
The Disney Friends for Change interstitials will feature anti-bullying messages from Dog With a Blog stars G Hannelius, Blake Michael, and Francesa Capaldi; Good Luck Charlie stars Bridgit Mendler, Jason Dolley, and Bradley Steven Perry; and Liv and Maddie stars Dove Camerson, Joey Bragg, and Tenzing Norgay Trainor.

Disney and the American Red Cross Work Together to Teach Kids and Families About Disaster Preparedness

September is National Preparedness Month and Disney has recently expanded its collaboration with the American Red Cross to help families learn how to prepare for emergencies and natural disasters.
As part of this partnership, the American Red Cross and Disney have created the Mickey and Friends Disaster Preparedness Book. The book is available for digital download and it teaches kids and families how to respond to a range of emergencies while incorporating activities and games. Michigan Kindergartener Wins Disney Friends for Change Grant for Anti-Bullying Program

Every year, Disney Friends for Change partners with Youth Service America (YSA) to offer grants “to help make a lasting, positive change in the world.” This year, 60 grants were awarded to participants between the ages of 5-25 and living in cities from Annapolis to Willimantic.

Disney Donates $1 Million to American Red Cross for National Preparedness Month

Disney Store to Donate School Supply Kits to Boys & Girls Clubs of America

This fall, members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America across the nation will get an extra dose of Disney magic when they head back to school, thanks to a generous donation by Disney Store. Bridgit Mendler Wins 2012 Role Model of the Year Award

Disney Channel star Bridgit Mendler (Good Luck Charlie) was awarded the 2012 Role Model of the Year Award from Common Sense Media, a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching parents and teachers how to safely manage media and technology in children’s lives. The award was given during Common Sense Media’s 8th annual awards ceremony on April 25 in San Francisco.
