Update: Disneyland’s Princess Fantasy Faire Closing August 12

Earlier this week, we told you about a new show coming to Disneyland’s Fantasyland, as well as the relocation of the Princess Fantasy Faire. Now, the Faire has an official closing date: August 12, 2012.
The Princess Fantasy Faire will be closing in order to prepare for the arrival of Fantasyland’s new live entertainment experience, which will open sometime in 2013. The Disney Princesses will still be available for meet-and-greets, and can be found on the path leading to “it’s a small world” from August 13 until the opening of the …

Disney Cast Members Bury a Time Capsule at Disney’s California Adventure

Last weekend, a group of Disney cast members and Imagineers marked a milestone in the construction of Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure Park by burying a time capsule. The time capsule, which contains items specific to the park, was buried in Buena Vista Plaza and will not be opened again until 2037.

Themed Entertainment Association Awards Disney with Honors

The Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) announced the winners of their 18th Annual Thea Awards, and several Disney attractions, as well as an Imagineer, were honored.
Star Tours – The Adventure Continues at both Disneyland park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios were honored with the Award for Outstanding Achievement – Attraction Refresh, based on the extensive remake of the popular ride. Additionally, the Magic Kingdom show “The Magic, The Memories & You” received the Award for Outstanding Achievement – Show Spectacular.

Walt Disney World Shares Additional Details About Fantasyland Expansion

Go Behind the Scenes of Beast’s Castle With Walt Disney Imagineers

Earlier this week, we shared with you our first official look at Beast’s Castle, which will be added as part of the planned Fantasyland expansionat Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Today, we are very excited to present even more photographs detailing the construction of the castle, as well as a technique Disney Imagineers are using called forced perspective, which makes the castle appear much larger than it actually is.
