We are getting our FIRST LOOK at the Cast of Disney/Bruckheimer Film’s The Lone Ranger today! This still features Armie Hammer as the title character – by day, John Reid, a lawman who becomes everyone’s favorite Old West Masked Man! His faithful friend, Tonto, is by his side – and is that actor/chameleon Johnny Depp, channeling a little of his Captain Jack mojo for this Native American look!

Last week, we brought you news of Disney’s deal with China’s You On Demand service, a subscription video-on-demand program. Now, the French pay-TV operator Canal+ Group has also inked a deal with Disney to make ABC Studios television series and Disney films a part of their subscription-based VoD service, Canalplay Infinity.
The deal will make several series part of the service, including Grey’s Anatomy, Lost and Desperate Housewives. Canalplay Infinity will also offer approximately 100 films from Disney’s catalog including Pirates of the Caribbean.

This week, Disney and Pixar brought us a brand-new look at their upcoming film Brave with the release of a brand-new poster and trailer for the film. The poster features the film’s star, Princess Merida, a Scottish princess who is unhappy with the path of marriage that she is expected to follow.

The film, based off Edgar Rice Burroughs’ popular book series, follows a man who mysteriously ends up transported to Mars and stuck between the nation’s conflicts.

Ron Osenbaugh, a special photo effects supervisor for Disney, passed away December 26 at the age of 79.
Born Ronald Earl Osenbaugh, he was best known for his work on 1985’s The Black Cauldron. Osenbaugh also worked on Disney’s Tron, as well as My Science Project and Ernest Saves Christmas.
Osenbaugh is survived by his wife, six children, four stepchildren and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His two sisters, Gwen and Dorothy, are also still alive.

Yesterday, sources announced that Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in 3D would be presented at the El Capitan Theatre from January 13 until February 2, 2012.
Kids will receive special RealD 3D glasses, and guests will be treated to a live appearance from Belle herself before each showing at the historic theatre.

Disney’s upcoming film John Carter, based on a series by Edgar Rice Burroughs, now has its own IMAX 3D poster. The official poster features a still shot from the film’s trailer, and definitely depicts one of the most action-packed scenes in the film.
