New Parade to Debut at the Magic Kingdom in 2014

Disney’s Magic Kingdom is getting a brand new parade in the spring of 2014, according to an announcement made yesterday at the “Monstrous Summer” press event.
The parade, named the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, celebrates New Fantasyland with innovative parade floats, vibrant costumes, and an all new original soundtrack featuring songs from Disney films and a theme song for the parade.
Stories highlighted in the parade include The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tangled, and Disney/Pixar’s Brave.

More Details Released About Disney’s ‘Monstrous Summer’ Promotion

A few days ago, we let you know about Disney’s Monstrous Summer promotion, which will bring the Monsters University characters to the Disney Parks  with some new enhancements. Now, we have some more details to share about these new additions, including some new concept art of what to expect.

Get Ready for Monster-size Fun at the Walt Disney World Resort

Today the Walt Disney World Resort announced their Monstrous Summer plans that include fun for the entire family.
The Monstrous Summer celebrates the June 21 release of Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University, and in addition to the newly wrapped Monsters U monorail, guests will also experience all-new collegiate settings when the meet Mike and Sully. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios the meet and greet area on the Backlot has been transformed into the Monsters University Student Union. New HARVEYS Seatbeltbag Collection Coming to Disney Parks This Summer

Fans of the HARVEYS for Disney Couture Seatbeltbag collection have another reason to start saving their money – a new collection is debuting this summer at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland.
The new design is called “Disney Patchwork” and is essentially a “mashup” of Disney prints and will include several different patchwork designs. The dangle that appears on the bag includes charms of Mickey’s hand, foot, shorts, and ears.

Mystic Point Opening at Hong Kong Disneyland in May

Hong Kong Disneyland’s expansion project concludes next month with the opening of Mystic Point, a new area that includes a new ride – Mystic Manor – in addition to a themed photo area called Garden of Wonders, and a new restaurant.
Mystic Manor is the centerpiece of Mystic Point and takes guests on an adventure courtesy of Lord Henry Mystic, an explorer and art collector. Become a Wilderness Explorer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Guests at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will soon have the chance to become Wilderness Explorers, experiencing the park in a way that will deepen their understanding of animals and our natural world.
This new experience is geared toward guests ages 7-10, but it’ll be fun for the whole family as kids take the official Wilderness Explorer pledge and then use field guides while they tour the park at their own pace. New Ice Cream Shop Coming to Epcot’s France Pavilion in June

Summer is just around the corner and guests looking for a delicious frozen treat will find a new place to cool down at Epcot’s France Pavilion.
L’Artisan des Glaces is scheduled to open in mid-June in the former location of the Boulangerie Patisserie. Described as an “artisan ice cream and sorbet shop,” the restaurant will feature 16 flavors of ice cream and sorbet, all made with in-house fresh ingredients.

Tokyo Disney Resort Celebrates 30th Anniversary

Tokyo Disney Resort celebrated its 30th anniversary Monday, kicking off a yearlong celebration that includes special events at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. This year is being called “Happiness Year” in honor of the ongoing celebrations.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Celebrates 15 Years on Earth Day, April 22

On Earth Day 1998, Disney’s Animal Kingdom opened to the public. This year marks the theme park’s 15th anniversary and guests can celebrate the milestone with special events scheduled for Earth Day 2013.

Disney Reveals First Shanghai Disney Resort Image

Disney is giving us our first look at what Shanghai Disneyland will look like.
Revealed at the company’s recent annual business meeting, the computer rendering shows a central landmark familiar to Disney fans — an Enchanted Storybook Castle. Water also features prominently in the picture, as previous plans indicated that it would.
