Disney Consumer Products Unveils Product Line for ‘The Good Dinosaur’

The newest Disney/Pixar film, The Good Dinosaur, roars into theaters later this month and recently Disney Consumer Products unveiled the new merchandise line attached to the film.
The product line includes figures, apparel, home décor, and novelty items from Disney Store, TOMY, Just Play, and more.

The Walt Disney Studios Reaches $4 Billion Mark at Global Box Office

The Walt Disney Studios reached the $4 billion mark at the global box office.
This year’s box office record passes the previous record set the by the Studios last year by six weeks. This year the Studios earned $1.433 billion domestically and $2.575 billion internationally.
The $4 billion in box office earnings was driven by Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out, Disney’s live-action Cinderella, and Marvel’s Ant-Man.

Disney Mobile Games Launches ‘Inside Out Thought Bubbles’ Game for iOS and Android

Fans of the new Disney/Pixar hit Inside Out can get in touch with their own emotions with the new Disney Mobile game Inside Out Thought Bubbles.
The game was launched last week after the film opened and is a bubble-shooter game where players take a journey with Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust, and Sadness to match and sort memory bubbles in Riley’s head.

New ‘Finding Nemo’-Themed Attraction Coming to Tokyo DisneySea in 2017

The Oriental Land Company and Disney have announced a new Finding Nemo attraction is coming to Tokyo DisneySea in 2017.
The new attraction will be based on the Disney/Pixar hit Finding Nemo and its 2016 sequel Finding Dory.
On the attraction guests will board a submarine that “shrinks” to fish size. The ride will use a system that blends visuals from the films with motion.

Plot for ‘Finding Dory’ Announced by Pixar President at Comic-Con in Brazil

The plot for Finding Dory has been released and perhaps the biggest news is that the movie’s setting isn’t the ocean.
According to Pixar President Jim Morris, the new film will take place at the Marine Biology Institute of California.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ ‘Frozen’ Wins Oscar for Best Animated Feature

For the first time (in forever) Walt Disney Animation Studios took home the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
The Studios’ worldwide phenomenon Frozen was named Best Animated Feature at the Oscar telecast on March 2. To date the film has earned $1 billion in worldwide ticket sales.
The Animated Film category was introduced at the Academy Awards in 2002 and has been dominated by Disney’s Pixar studios. That studio has won seven times in the last 11 years but was not nominated this year.

Pixar Lays off Employees Due to the Delay of ‘The Good Dinosaur’

Pixar Animation Studios has laid off nearly 5 percent of its 1,200 person workforce due to delays on the studio’s next feature, The Good Dinosaur.
The layoffs affect close to 60 people related to the project at the studio’s Emeryville, California headquarters.
The Good Dinosaur was originally scheduled for a May 30, 2014 release date, but that was pushed back to November 25, 2015 earlier this fall. Prior to the delay of the project, Pixar removed director Bob Peterson from the project. No replacement has been named as director.

New Parade to Debut at the Magic Kingdom in 2014

Disney’s Magic Kingdom is getting a brand new parade in the spring of 2014, according to an announcement made yesterday at the “Monstrous Summer” press event.
The parade, named the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, celebrates New Fantasyland with innovative parade floats, vibrant costumes, and an all new original soundtrack featuring songs from Disney films and a theme song for the parade.

Staff Cuts Expected at Walt Disney Company Amid Reorganization

Cat Cora and John Lasseter to Host Meals at Epcot Food and Wine Festival

Celebrity chef Cat Cora and director/animator John Lasseter are set to host special dinners tied to the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, which begins September 28.
