The Walt Disney Company Announces Cash Dividend for Shareholders

The Walt Disney Company recently announced a cash dividend of $0.71 per share for the second half of the fiscal year 2015.
The dividend will be payable on January 11, 2016 to all shareholders of record as of December 14.
The semi-annual payment of dividends started in July of this year when Disney paid a dividend of 66 cents a share. Combined with the most recent amount, the 2015 payments increased 19 percent from fiscal 2014 to $1.37 a share.

The Walt Disney Company Unveils Collectible Shareholder Certificate

The Walt Disney Company has unveiled a collectible shareholder certificate to celebrate 90 years of Disney characters.
While the company no longer issues paper stock certificates, shareholders can order this special collectible certificate at DisneyStore.com/ShareholderCertificate.
Only current shareholders can order the certificates and the certificates can be personalized.
This new collectible certificate features characters from Disney, ABC, ESPN, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm including Mickey Mouse, Tinker Bell, Anna and Elsa, Captain Jack Sparrow, Buzz Lightyear and Woody, R2-D2, and Doc McStuffins.

The Walt Disney Company to Hold Annual Shareholders’ Meeting in Kansas City

On March 13, The Walt Disney Co. will be holding their annual shareholders’ meeting in Kansas City, MO. According to the Kansas City Business Journal, this will be the first time the meeting has been held in Kansas City since 1998.
Disney spokeswoman Kathryn Kranhold says:
Disney is delighted to be going back to Kansas City, where Walt discovered his great love for animation and produced Alice’s Wonderland, the short cartoon that marked the founding of the Walt Disney Co.

Steve Jobs Re-Elected to Disney Board

Despite the opinions of the advisory firm Glass Lewis & Co., Disney shareholders re-elected Steve Jobs to the board on Wednesday – even though he has missed about 75% of the meetings last year.
Jobs’ absences from most of the meetings are allegedly due to an illness that also had him take a leave of absence as CEO of Apple.
Even though the advisory firm recommended Jobs not be re-elected, the Disney shareholders reinstated him at their annual meeting in Salt Lake City, as well as re-electing the company’s 12 other nominees.
