Disney Fantasy Christened by Godmother Mariah Carey in New York City

She has performed at Disney many times during her career, and now superstar and native New Yorker Mariah Carey adds another Disney title to her list:  godmother.
In a lavish, star-studded ceremony Thursday, Carey christened Disney’s latest cruise ship, the Disney Fantasy, which will begin voyages to the Caribbean later this month.
After the ship’s construction was completed at German shipyard Meyer Werft, the Fantasy made its first transatlantic crossing, and was welcomed in New York earlier this week.  Carey uttered the traditional words “I christen thee Disney Fantasy.  May God bless …

Disney Fantasy Leaves Germany Headed for New York City

Disney’s latest cruise ship, the Disney Fantasy, is headed for its home port of Canaveral, Florida, but not before stopping in New York City for its christening ceremony.
The ship left Germany on February 16, and is scheduled to arrive in New York City on March 1, and after being christened, will head down the East Coast and arrive in Port Canaveral on March 6.  The Fantasy will join its sister ship, the Disney Dream, in voyages to the Caribbean.

New Water Features Added to the Disney Fantasy

Disney Cruise Line’s anticipated ship, the Disney Fantasy, has added some amazing new water features designed to keeps guests cool while on board.
On deck 12, a new addition called AquaLab has plenty of pop jets, geysers and bubblers to cool off the entire family. The story says that this water play area was created by Huey, Dewey, and Louie but they’re currently away – which means the guests can play! Guests need to operate AquaLab in order to keep AquaDuck running, and three separate areas allow you to “control” the …

Dumbo to Adorn the Stern of Disney’s Newest Ship, Fantasy

It’s become quite a tradition within Disney Cruise Lines to immortalize a Disney characters by having them adorn the sterns of each ship in playful fashion.  So far, we’ve seen Goofy touching up the paint on the Magic, Donald working on the Wonder (with a little “help” from one of his nephews), and Sorcerer Mickey “magicking” the work done on the Dream.
So, who will serve as the Stern for the much anticipated Disney Fantasy, Disney’s fourth ship, which is due next spring?  Why, everyone’s favorite flying elephant, Dumbo!

Disney Cruise Lines Reveals New Details About Latest Ship, The Fantasy

Disney has revealed new details about its latest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet via a media event and on the Disney Parks Blog today.
The Disney Fantasy, which will be a sister ship to the Disney Dream, will include many of the same amenities and innovation that were introduced on the Dream earlier this year.  However, there are several features that will distinguish the Fantasy from its counterpart.

First Glance:  Photos from Disney Fantasy’s Keel Laying Ceremony

An important milestone for Disney’s latest ship took place yesterday, as Karl Holz, president of Disney Cruise Line, joined Meyer Werft’s Managing Partner, Bernard Meyer for the Fantasy’s keel laying ceremony.  Minnie Mouse oversaw the festivities.
The traditional ceremony, in which the first block, or section, of the ship is lowered onto the building dock, and a coin is placed beneath the keel for good luck.
The Fantasy is scheduled to be completed early next year.

With Dream Successfully Launched, Disney Attention Turns to Fantasy

We’ve all watched every moment, every movement, every development of Disney’s newest ship, the Dream.  But as she successfully embarks on her Caribbean itinerary, it’s time to turn our attention to her younger sister:  the Fantasy.

Mickey Mouse’s Face Begins to Take Shape on New “Disney Dream” Ship

The Disney Cruise Line is still 145 days away from the maiden voyage of its latest gem, the “Disney Dream,” into their fleet of luxuriously fun ships. We’ve been following the construction and design progress of the “Dream” since the beginning and some really exciting things are starting to take shape! Introducing Marco Nogara, Disney Cruise Line’s Newest Captain

Christi Erwin Donnan, Manager of Public Affairs for the Disney Cruise Line, announced the latest Captain to join Disney’s fleet of cruise ships today. Marco Nogara is a native of Venice, Italy and becomes the 6th captain to join an elite group of Masters aboard the Disney Cruise Line boats. Mr. Nogara will train to familiarize himself with the shipboard and shoreside operations at Disney & eventually take the wheel as a Captain in December.
