Tulane University’s Devon Walker to Receive 2013 Disney Spirit Award

Devon Walker – a Tulane University senior who suffered a serious spinal cord injury during a football game last season – will receive the 2013 Disney Spirit Award.
The award is given annually by Disney Sports to college football’s most inspirational figure. After suffering his injury, Walker has become a motivational figure for his team, the university, and the New Orleans community.

College Football Star Nate Boyer Earns Disney Spirit Award

University of Texas football player Nate Boyer was chosen as this year’s recipient of the Disney Spirit Award.
The award, presented by Disney Sports, is given annually to college football’s “most inspirational figure.” Boyer joined the military at the age of 20, responding to the September 11, 2011 terrorist attacks. Prior to his enlistment, Boyer spent time working with autistic children and helped provide aid to refugee camps in the Darfur area of Sudan. Star Sighting:  Tim Tebow Comes Home to Florida During ESPN the Weekend

We just love this pic from the Disney Parks Blog of former Florida Gator and current Denver Bronco Tim Tebow!  Tebow was on hand Friday to meet and mingle with fans during Disney’s ESPN the Weekend at Hollywood Studios.
Tebow, who plays quarterback and  just completed his rookie season with the Broncos, won the Heisman Trophy while at the University of Florida, and was also awarded the Disney Spirit Award, which is awarded annually to college football’s most inspirational player.

University of Arkansas Football Player Recipient of Disney Spirit Award

D.J. Williams, tight end for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks, has been selected as the 2010 recipient for Disney’s Spirit Award.  The award annually honors college football’s most inspirational figure.
Raised until age 11 in a home torn apart by his alcoholic, drug-addicted, and abusive father, Williams, his mother, Vicky, and his younger sister, Vanessa, fled their Dallas, Texas, home to seek a better life.  The family moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, and looked for an opportunity to start fresh.
