New Play Disney Parks App Coming this Summer

A brand new, interactive Play Disney Parks app is coming to Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland this summer.
The app – which will be available for iOS and Android – will allow guests to “play in the parks like never before,” according to Disney.
Guests will be able to use the app to access exclusive experiences at Disney World and Disneyland through activities that interact with the surrounding environment.
And, according to Disney’s description, the more you play the more you’ll discover via the app.

Check Out the Merchandise for the Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side

If you’re running the Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side this weekend at Disney World, there’s a new slate of commemorative merchandise.
Merchandise includes short and long sleeved shirts, tank tops, jackets and accessories – for all races including the half marathon, 10K, 5K, and Kids’ Races.
There’s also a slate of merchandise for runners participating in the Star Wars First Order Challenge – which includes the 10K and half marathon for 19.3 miles.
Additional items include Star Wars lifestyle apparel, commemorative Stormtrooper and BB-8 figurines, and specialty shoe ornaments.

Pirates of the Caribbean Reopens with New Auction Scene

Pirates of the Caribbean has reopened at the Magic Kingdom and a popular scene on the attraction has changed.
The auction scene was recently updated and now features an auction of the townspeople’s good, which were stolen by the pirates.
The Redhead who was part of the iconic original auction scene is now a pirate named Redd who, according to the description, has “just pillaged the town’s rum supply and has something to say about it.”

Disney Launches 360-Degree Panoramas of the Disney Parks on Google Street View

If you’ve ever wished you could explore the Disney Parks on your phone or computer and feel like you were standing IN the parks, your wish has been granted!
The Disney Parks have just launched new 360-degree panoramas of Walt Disney World and Disneyland on Google Street View.

New Disney Castle Otterbox Phone Cases Available

If you’re looking for a new phone case, you’ll want to check out the new, Disney Parks-exclusive Otterbox cases featuring Cinderella Castle and Sleeping Beauty Castle.
The new cases are currently available for iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone 8 Plus and will soon be joined by cases designed for the iPhone X.

Finisher Medals Revealed for Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side

The 2018 Star Wars Half Marathon – The Dark Side takes place at Walt Disney World on April 19-22 and Disney has recently revealed the finisher medals.
The medals are inspired by the villains of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
The 5K finisher medal features the Executioner Stormtrooper and the 10K medal is the Praetorian Guard helmet.
Finishers of the half marathon will receive a medal with Captain Phasma’s helmet and the First Order Challenge medal is non other than Kylo Ren.
The Kids’ Races medal feature BB-9E, the villainous droid.

Disney’s ‘Incredible Summer’ Brings New Experiences to Walt Disney World Theme Parks

Summer is still months away, but Disney World is getting ready for an ‘Incredible Summer’ with new experiences coming to all four Walt Disney World theme parks.
At the Magic Kingdom, The Incredibles are taking over the park to celebrate the theatrical release of The Incredibles 2 on June 15.
Guests can party with Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone and Edna Mode will also be making her theme park debut. And each night guests can enjoy a DJ Dance Party in Tomorrowland.

Disney Unveils Merchandise for #RockTheDots Celebration

The second annual #RockTheDots celebration is this weekend, through January 22 at Disney Springs and Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District.
Celebrating Minnie Mouse and National Polka Dot Day, the #RockTheDots celebration features merchandise, dance parties, and food and merchandise discounts (the latter just for guests who are rocking polka dots).
Guests on both coasts can find specialty merchandise created just for #RockTheDots including apparel, ornaments, and drinkware.
There is also new PANDORA Jewelry and a new collection of polka dot Disney Dooney & Bourke handbags.

Reimagined World of Disney Stores Planned for Disney World and Disneyland

The World of Disney Stores at Disney Springs in Disney World and the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland are getting a serious makeover starting next month.
The stores will get an interior makeover and Disney says once that’s completed “guests will discover the products they love from Disney Parks in a dynamic and distinctly Disney retail environment.”
Both stores will remain open during the renovations and work will be completed in phases according to Disney.

Select Disney World Restaurants Now Available on OpenTable

Disney World guests have been able to make reservations via OpenTable for certain Disney Springs restaurants for a while, and now other Disney World restaurants are also available on the app.
The restaurants now available for booking via OpenTable are: Flying Fish, Grand Floridian Cafe, Boatwright’s, The Wave, Artist’s Point, Sanaa, Olivia’s at Old Key West, Kona Cafe, and Jiko.
Guests using OpenTable do not need to add a credit card to hold the reservation, but OpenTable will revoke booking privileges if a guests fails to appear for a reservation.
