Several Central Florida theme parks, including Walt Disney World, are donating unclaimed electronic devices to local charities to help fund their ongoing efforts.
One such charity that benefits from Disney World’s donations is Harbor House of Central Florida, who sell the donated smartphones on eBay and Craigslist. According to CEO Carol Wick, the donations have generated about $50,000 annually for the women’s shelter.

Last week, we told you about 4 year old cancer survivor McKenna May, who was denied a Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World because her father wouldn’t authorize the trip, sources said. Bridget Wismer, a Delaware mom, has plead guilty on charges of selling her newborn son for $15,000 to pay for a trip to Disney World. The baby’s intended buyer, 55 year old John Gavaghan, has also entered a guilty plea.
