Disney XD Begins a Non-Stop Summer with Special Guest Stars, New Series Premieres, and Theme Nights

Disney XD kicked off summer this week with its “Non-Stop Summer” programming for kids and families including guest star appearances by the NBA’s Dwight Howard, the NFL’s DeSean Jackson, and NASCAR’s Joey Logano.
The special programming also includes new series premieres, themed nights, and a fan-generated event called Chicken I Dare You.

Disney Channel Launching Search for Contestants to Compete in ‘Disney’s Win, Lose, or Draw’

Disney Channel is looking for kids in Southern California to compete in the network’s new game show, Disney’s Win, Lose, or Draw. The contestant search begins Saturday, June 15 and is open to kids ages 11-17. Kids who have a flair for comedy, like to draw, and are great at solving clues are encouraged to try out.

‘Star Wars Rebels’ Pilot Set to Launch on Disney Channel in 2014

Disney and Netfilx Reach Agreement on Disney Junior and Disney XD Shows

After reaching an agreement with Disney/ABC Television, Netflix is set to begin offering popular shows from Disney Junior and Disney XD. This agreement makes Netflix the only subscription streaming service with rights to these programs.
The shows that will be offered by Netflix in the multiyear agreement include Jake and the Never Land Pirates, Handy Manny, Special Agent Oso, JoJo’s Circus, and the animated series Tron: Uprising.

Disney XD’s ‘Crash & Bernstein’ Renewed for a Second Season

This week, Disney XD announced that its popular series Crash & Bernstein will be renewed for a second season. Production on the second season will begin in Van Nuys, CA this July, with the season premiere set for this fall.

Following the success of the first season, Disney XD has renewed the top-rated comedy series Lab Rats for a second season.

AT&T U-verse Signs Agreement with Disney

Sources have announced that AT&T U-verse and The Walt Disney Co. have reached a distribution agreement that will allow AT&T subscribers access to Disney content across multiple platforms: including television, smartphones, gaming consoles, tablets and computers.
The new agreement will provide 70 Disney services to customers, including ABC, ABC Family, Disney XD, Disney Channel, Disney Junior and a variety of ESPN channels.

Disney XD Show ‘Tron: Uprising’ Canceled

According to a media report, Disney XD’s cult favorite Tron: Uprising has been canceled. It will not return for a second season.
