New details about Disneyland’s Fantasy Faire have been revealed, including the official opening date: March 12, 2013 to be exact!
One of the biggest features of Fantasy Faire will be the Royal Theatre. At the theatre, two Renaissance Storytellers – Mr. Smythe and Mr. Jones – will treat visitors to two unique stories based on Beauty and the Beast and Tangled.

Employees at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are continuing to crack down on multiday ticket abuse by photographing visitors who use the tickets, sources say.
On Tuesday, parkgoers said they were delayed entrance to the parks by 45 minutes due to the photographing. However, Disneyland officials denied that there was any significant delay to guests, saying that only the multiday pass holders were photographed.
The new process is the next step in Disney’s efforts to crack down on ticket brokers, who buy multiday passes then “rent” them to guests for individual days. …

In December, we told you that Disneyland’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad would be closing this month for a major renovation. Now, crews are beginning to prepare for the overhaul, which will cost an estimated $4 million. This is the first major refurbishment of the attraction in more than three decades.

For the second year in a row, the Three Kings Day celebration (or Día de los Reyes Magos) will return to Disneyland park.
The celebration will be moved to Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree, and feature Mariachi performers, festive Disney characters and fun food, dancing and entertainment. Children can also participate in the excitement with face painting, crafts and coloring.
The festival is slated to run January 4-6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. The full schedule of performers includes:

Last year, the Matterhorn Bobsleds underwent a period of refurbishment – now, it’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad’s turn!
The attraction at Disneyland Park will be closing January 7, 2013 for a major overhaul. The updates will include brand-new ride vehicles (but will remain in the style of the trains we all know and love,) and new track, but the ride will still follow the current course. Furthermore, sections of the mountain will be repainted to give the attraction a fresh look and feel.

After a three month closure, Disneyland’s Indiana Jones attraction is set to reopen December 8.
Several slight changes were made to the ride, including the addition of a new mural in the dart room as well as modified bridges and other show modifications designed to enhance the lighting, animation and other special effects.
Despite the attraction’s initial problems with guest injuries, the recent renovations were not related to any safety concerns or problems.

Attendance at Anaheim’s Disney Parks has grown tremendously during the late summer, media reports have said. The Walt Disney Co.’s financial report for July 1 through September 29 showed an uptick in attendance, due in large part to the new expansion project at Disney’s California Adventure.
According to the report, visitors at Disney’s California Adventure park contributed to a 3% overall attendance increase since last quarter. Jay Rasulo, the company’s chief financial officer, said in a statement that he attributed the attendance hike to “the great success of Cars Land, both …

Next month, guests can immerse themselves in the wonders of Fantasyland with new artwork created by Walt Disney Imagineers and Disney-inspired artists.
The Disney Gallery on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland Park will feature a variety of Fantasyland-inspired art from Imagineers Brian Crosby, Jim Crouch and Jeremy Fulton. Artwork will also be available from artists Steve Adams, Jody Daily, Jeff Granito, Katie Kelly, Maggie Parr, Jimmy Pickering, George Scribner, Darren Wilson and Yakovetic.

To celebrate the LA Kings NHL championship win, the Stanley Cup has been touring various parts of the Southern California area recently.
On Tuesday, the iconic cup made a stop at Disneyland Park to visit two icons: Mickey Mouse himself and Sleeping Beauty Castle! Mickey took the time to pose for a photo outside the castle with the cup, and looks particularly happy to do so.
