Star Sighting: Jason Bateman Takes His Daughter to Disneyland

Last week, actor Jason Bateman headed to the Happiest Place on Earth for some father-daughter time. Bateman, best known for his work on the TV show Arrested Development and in such films as Juno, Up in the Air, and Horrible Bosses, brought his 5-year-old daughter, Francesca, to Disneyland last Wednesday. The two were spotted riding the Alice in Wonderland attraction in Fantasyland.

‘Shake it Up’ Stars Coming to Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District

Bella Thorne and Zendaya, know for their roles on Disney Channel’s Shake It Up, will be coming to Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District this month for a special event.
The girls will appear at Studio Disney 365 to celebrate the release of the Shake It Up: Live 2 Dance soundtrack. During the celebration, Thorne and Zendaya will participate in a Q&A session with Radio Disney personality Jake, giving answers to all of the most-asked questions by fans.

Disney California Adventure Expansion to Be Complete this June

Yesterday, Tom Staggs, the chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts announced that the 5-year expansion of Disney California Adventure will be complete this June.
On June 15, Cars Land, Buena Vista Street and Carthay Circle Theatre will finally open. In addition to four new attractions, including Radiator Springs Racers, Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree, Luigi’s Flying Tires and the Red Car Trolley, guests will be able to enjoy additional dining and shopping opportunities.

Disneyland on Lockdown This Morning Due to Suspicious Package

Disneyland was on lockdown this morning following the discovery of a suspicious package at about 7:10 AM. The Orange County Bomb Squad was called in to investigate the object, which was identified as a PVC pipe that had been placed as part of a geocaching game.
A Disneyland cast member discovered the object, which was hidden in a tree in the esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. While the package was being examined, the esplanade area was cleared and no guests were permitted to enter the park. Disneyland guests …

Disney Mobile Magic App Now Available for iPhone

While Verizon Android customers have had access to the Disney Mobile Magic application for over a year now, with free access since last August, this week brought the release of the app to iPhone customers for the first time. The official Disney Parks app provides guide maps, wait times, FASTPASS return times, character information, and more for theme park guests in Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

Earl of Sandwich to Open in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney

Disneyland guests will soon have a brand-new dining option to look forward to, as Disney has announced that the popular quick-service restaurant Earl of Sandwich will open in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney in early summer 2012. The restaurant, known for its sandwiches and salads, already has locations in Walt Disney World and Disneyland Paris.

Couple Sues Disneyland for Negligence in Jungle Cruise Crash

Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise attraction may not rate on anyone’s list as a thrill ride, but according to a Southern California couple who rode the attraction in 2010, the ride really was perilous, and the skipper was “recklessly speeding,” which they said led to the crash.
Jeffrey and Maria Lee filed a lawsuit on February 3rd, claiming they were seriously injured in the accident. The lawsuit states:

New Menu and More In Store for Disneyland’s La Brea Bakery

Disneyland’s La Brea Bakery Cafe began a renovation project on January 3, 2012, closing the counter-service area in preparation for the refurbishments. However, the full-service section of the bakery will remain open until mid-March, with the full unveiling of the new refurbishments happening in April.

Disney’s Matterhorn Undergoing Renovations

Disneyland’s iconic Matterhorn attraction will be undergoing “routine maintenance” for the next six months, making  this easily one of the longest renovations in the ride’s history. The ride officially shut down January 9, and is expected to reopen again this summer.
While the ride is closed, crews will be updating the attraction with a fresh coat of exterior paint, as well as repairing the rock-work and adding new ride vehicles. Previously, the vehicles had tandem seating, but the new ride vehicles will have three individual seats in each car, with two …
