Walt Disney World Passholders who are eagerly anticipating “Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue” are in for a treat this September. For the third consecutive year, Annual Passholders will be treated to special advance screenings of the newest direct-to-DVD tale of Tinker Bell and her fairy friends. Fans of the Disney Channel and its hit songs will have a new show to look forward to in both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts soon, the Disney Parks Blog reports. A new, currently unnamed show featuring songs from the popular channel will be coming this fall to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney California Adventure.

Last fall Disney announced that the “Star Tours” attraction in both Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World were going to close this summer and undergo some needed updates. Disney Design Group artists, Costa Alavezos, Brian Blackmore and Darren Wilson have been involved in multiple projects this year for Disney’s galactic “Star Wars Weekends” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios park. One of the projects includes some special limited edition art items created to pay tribute to “Star Wars Weekends” & it’s beloved characters. Contracted by Lucasfilm and approved by Star Wars creator George Lucas himself, a new interactive & talking C3PO droid scuttled his way through Disney’s Hollywood Studios park to greet guests during “Star Wars Weekends.” Even though the famous droid has been part of the event in the past this time he’s interacting with guests in an amazing way, he’s talking to them! Orlando Attractions magazine is reporting that 4th of July Events in Walt Disney World have been announced & each area of ‘the World’ is planning for a very red, white, & blue celebration. Each park, along with Downtown Disney, will feature a unique fireworks show, parade, or revamped patriotic version of their nightly entertainment. Disney’s Animal Kingdom park remains off the list, presumably not to disturb it’s animal population. Guests should note that the schedule is subject to change.

Crowned yesterday, the 2010 American Idol victor Lee DeWyze has already completed one of his responsibilities as a winner; recording a spot for the national “I’m Going to Disney World” campaign.
