Country singing sensation Scotty McCreery, who was crowned this year’s winner of American Idol, wowed guests yesterday on a victory parade through Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.  The seventeen year old from Garner, North Carolina, rode down Hollywood Boulevard with none other Mickey Mouse himself, waving to excited fans.  After the parade, Scotty took the stage in front of “The American Idol Experience” attraction, and thanked fans for supporting him on the hit show.  Park guests were treated to a live performance of Scotty’s hit single, “I Love You This Big.”  …

Guitarist Joe Perry of the rock group Aerosmith joined Goofy for an impromptu photo op at Disney’s Hollywood Studios last week.
The members of the legendary group are no strangers to the park, as one of its most popular attractions, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, features their music.  In fact, the four-story guitar that stands at the entrance of the indoor coaster served as the perfect background for the photo, which was shot by Disney photographer, Gene Duncan.

Yesterday, Dwight Howard, All-Star center for Orlando Magic, stopped by Disney’s Hollywood Studios and happily posed for pictures with the lovable Chewbacca.
The first NBA player in history to win the “NBA Defensive Player of the Year” award three times in a row, Howard rocked the R2-D2 mouse ears and even tried to impersonate Chewbacca’s famous “voice.”
The picture was taken in front of the soon to open Star Tours attraction, which debuts May 20.

With the opening date for Star Tours 2.0 drawing ever closer, sources have confirmed there will be new merchandise available at The Star Trader gift shop, which reopens May 4 at Disneyland park. Souvenirs will also be available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios starting May 20.

Starting May 16, several new meet-and-greet experiences will be coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
First, The Magic of Disney Animation attraction will be changed to reflect Winnie the Pooh. This change was designed to promote Disney’s upcoming film, Disney’s Winnie the Pooh, which hits theaters July 15. Visitors to the park will be able to meet Winnie the Pooh himself, and will also have the opportunity to view the making of the film.
