Happy October! It’s time for Halloween fun and celebrating the 20th Epcot Food and Wine Festival! It’s been another busy week of Disney news, so let’s dive right in!
This week it became official – Downtown Disney was renamed Disney Springs! The shopping, dining, and entertainment complex will feature four “neighborhoods” once the project is completed – The Landing, Marketplace, West Side, and Town Center. Downtown Disney has been officially renamed Disney Springs as part of the transformation of the shopping, dining, and entertainment district.
Disney Springs will feature four “neighborhoods” once the project is completed – The Landing, Marketplace, West Side, and Town Center. When the area is completed in 2016 there will be more than 150 venues for dining, shopping, and entertainment.
The Landing is currently home to THE BOATHOUSE, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, and the newly-opened Morimoto Asia.

Morimoto Asia is set to open its doors on September 30 in what will by then be called Disney Springs and we have a sneak peek of the menu!
The pan-Asian restaurant from Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto will be located in The Landing are of Disney Springs and will be serving lunch and dinner. During the first few weeks after opening day guests will only be able to dine there for dinner.

After months of waiting, Downtown Disney will officially be known as Disney Springs next week.
A renaming ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29 at Waterview Park at 5 p.m.
The official renaming will take place just one day before the grand opening of Morimoto Asia, a pan-Asian restaurant owned by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto.
Signs surrounding Downtown Disney have been updated recently with the new moniker, as have signs on Interstate 4.

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar has officially opened in Downtown Disney!
This new watering hole is located in The Landing area in what will soon be Disney Springs and the official opening happened during a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 22.
For those wondering “who is Jock Lindsey?” – he was the frequent pilot of Indiana Jones and he settled in Florida after spotting the waterfront property on a search for the Fountain of Youth.

Today’s the day – Jock Lindsey’s Hanagar Bar opens at 11:30 a.m. in Downtown Disney!
This new watering hole will serving guests on a first-come, first-serve basis and there are no Advance Dining Reservations. Planning to arrive early is probably a good idea.

As the transformation of Downtown Disney into Disney Springs continues it was announced that Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is opening on September 22!
The menu at Jock Lindsey’s will include tapas-style dishes and unique beverages. There will be a definite aviation theme to the restaurant, including the dishes used for serving food.

With the opening of Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar next week the transformation of Downtown Disney into Disney Springs continues.
And now we have word of a couple more possible restaurants and bars that might be joining the lineup at Disney Springs.
There are reports that a new restaurant called Walt’s and a bar/lounge called the Neverland Tunnels will be added to Disney Springs in the coming months.
