Artists Announced for March at the WonderGround Gallery in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District

If you’re stopping by the WonderGround Gallery in the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland this month, there’s a new slate of artists to meet and discover their work.
The Featured Artisan of the Month is Brittney Lee, visual development artist at the Walt Disney Animation Studios, who is known for her work on Frozen and Zootpia.
Fans can meet her again later this month on March 23 and 24 from 2-5 p.m.
The Artist in Residence is Aggie Cheung, a designer, illustrator and crafter. Fans can meet her on March 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, …

“Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration” is Coming to Disneyland

A new celebration – Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration – is coming to Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District this spring.
This new event will transport guests “through a visually and whimsically immersive experience celebrating 90 years of the one and only Mickey Mouse, and his darling, Minnie Mouse.”
The limited time exhibit in the Downtown Disney District will feature themed rooms with displays inspired by Mickey Mouse. The rooms will include “selfie-worthy surprises” for everyone.

Three Artists to Be Featured at Disneyland’s WonderGround Gallery

WonderGround Gallery in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District is hosting three artists this month.
Gabby Zapada is the February Artist in Residence, and is a senior visual development artist for Disney Digital Network in Glendale. Guests can meet Gabby on February 9-10, 16-17, 23-24 from 5 – 9 p.m.
The Featured Artisan of the Month is Eunjung June Kim and her art will be showcased all month long. Guests can meet her February 16-17 and 23-24 from 1 – 4 p.m.

Meet the Artists in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District in December

Several artist meet and greets are planned in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District this month.
At the WonderGround Gallery guests can meet Artist in Residence Jeff Granito on December 7, 9, 14, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30 from 6 – 10 p.m.
Jeff “creates graphic designs that are bright, whimsical and have a vintage feel.”
D Home is also hosting an artist of the month – Temecula Olive Oil.

Disneyland’s WonderGround Gallery Hosting Two Artists This Month

Disneyland’s WonderGround Gallery is hosting two special artist events this month.
Artist in residence Bill Richardson – a Los Angeles-based illustrator and animator – will be performing live art demonstrations and will showcase his latest pieces from his Flim Flammery collection.
Remaining dates for this month are: November 17, 18, 24, and 25 from 5-9 p.m
Next up is Michael Fleming, an artist who is known for children’s media, including picture books, games, toys and animation.
He’ll be at the Gallery November 24 and 25 from 2-5 p.m.

Earl of Sandwich Reopening at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District

Earl of Sandwich – the popular eatery in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District – is reopening for a limited time, after closing earlier this year.
The Downtown Disney District location, which was inspired by John Montagu, the Earl who invented the sandwich in 1762, was closed due to the impeding construction of a new hotel in the area.
But now, the sandwich shop will reopen for a “limited time” (no indication on how long that limited time might be) to the joy of sandwich fans at Disneyland.

Artist Events Announced for the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort

There’s a slate of new artist events planned for the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort.
On July 21, WonderGround Gallery welcomes Gabby Zapata, Jeff Granito, Jerrod Maruyama, Nidhi Chanani, and Sydney Hanson for an Artist Showcase on from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Jeff Granito, Nidhi Chanani, and Sydney Hanson are debuting new pieces, and Gabby Zapata and Jerrod Maruyama will be singing their recent work.
On July 28 and 29 guest can meet the July artist of the month, Nidhi Chanan, at WonderGround Gallery from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Artist Events Planned for Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District

Several artist events are planned for the next few weeks at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District.
On May 5, the WonderGround Gallery is hosting artists Lorelay Bove and Neysa Bove and Leilani Joy from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. All will be showcasing new works of art.
Ashley Eckstein, author of “It’s Your Universe,” will be at The Disney Dress Shop on May 25 from 3-5 p.m. and WonderGround Gallery from 6-8 p.m. signing copies of her book.

Salt & Straw Ice Cream Coming Soon to Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District

A new ice cream shop – Salt & Straw – is slated to open later this year at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District.
The family-run ice cream business from Portland, Oregon, serves up handmade ice cream that’s made “in small batches using the best local, organic and sustainable ingredients.”
Flavors might include Honey Lavender, Chocolate Gooey Brownie, Coffee & Bourbon, Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache, and even Black Olive Brittle & Goat Cheese.

Several Downtown Disney District Restaurants Closing to Make Way for New Disneyland Hotel

Several restaurants at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District are closing this spring and summer to make way for a new four-star hotel coming to Disneyland in 2021.
The following locations are closing as of June 30 (or earlier):

AMC 12 Theatres
Rainforest Cafe
ESPN Zone
Earl of Sandwich
Alamo Rent-a-Car
Starbucks (on the west side only)

There is also reporting that much of the area west of the LEGO store in the Downtown Disney District will be torn down to make way for the new hotel.
