Disney Makes Red Cross Donation for Earthquake Victims, Encourages Cast Members to Donate by Matching

Although Tokyo Disney Resort remains closed while the entire property undergoes a comprehensive safety inspection, Disney is doing its part to assist victims of the tragic Japan earthquake and resulting tsunami.
The company is making a donation of $2.5 million to the Red Cross in an effort to aide disaster relief.  In addition, the company is challenging its cast members to give as well:  for every dollar that cast members donate, Disney will match, dollar for dollar, up to an additional $1 million.

Disney Co. Donates RMB 1 Million to Rebuild Schools

Marketwatch.com is reporting that Bob Iger (CEO, The Disney Company) has announced that the Walt Disney Company will donate RMB 1 Million to the China Youth Development Foundation, to help rebuild schools that were devastated in the earthquakes in Chinese providence of Qinghai.
Iger was quoted saying, “”On behalf of The Walt Disney Company, I extend our deepest condolences to the people of China and hope our contribution can help the children and families affected by this terrible earthquake.”

Earthquake Traps Guest in Disneyland Hotel Elevator

Sources are reporting that a 6.9 scaled earthquake hit Baja California at 3:40pm. Jarring cities as far away as San Diego, CA; and Phoenix, AZ.
The quake was centered about 16 miles south-southwest of Guadalupe Victoria and about 108 miles from Tijuana, Baja California, authorities said.
KABC-TV is currently reporting that a woman is trapped in an elevator at a Disneyland hotel.
