Four Disney Resort Hotels Begin Allowing Dogs to Stay in Rooms

Starting today, October 15, four Walt Disney World Resort Hotels will begin allowing guests to have up to two dogs in their rooms during their stay.
This new dog policy is in place at Disney’s Art of Animation, Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside, Disney’s Fort Wilderness, and Disney’s Yacht Club. According to Disney this is a “test phase” of the policy.
Specific floors and/or areas of the four hotels will be designated as “pet areas.”
Guests who choose to bring their dogs will be charged a fee per night – $50 per night at …

Reservations Open Now for New Year’s Eve at Mickey’s Backyard BBQ

If you’re looking for a family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration at Disney World, you can now make reservations for Mickey’s New Year’s Eve BBQ at Fort Wilderness.
This special event takes place at Mickey’s Backyard BBQ and will include Chip and Dale plus Mickey and Minnie.
Guests will enjoy the all-you-can-eat BBQ in the outside pavilion (a true Florida New Year’s Eve party!) with some special holiday foods. The holiday items include Lobster Mac and Cheese, Bacon Jam Burger Sliders, and more.

Limited Edition Walt Disney World Resort T-Shirts Coming to Disney Parks Online Store

If you’re a collector of Walt Disney World Resort T-shirts, next week is your lucky week.
Disney is releasing two limited edition T-shirts that celebrate Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue.
The T-shirts will be available from April 27 through May 3 only at the Disney Parks Online Store. The vintage shirts were designed by Disney Design Group artist Richard Terpstra.
The design of the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue shirt was inspired by the vintage posters guests can find around Pioneer Hall and even includes the old “Florida” flag above the …

Brush Fire Under Control at Walt Disney World

Fire crews have been working on and off this week to control a small fire on Walt Disney World property.
According to Bo Jones, assistant fire chief for Reedy Creek Emergency Services, the fire began last Sunday afternoon in a wooded area situated between Magic Kingdom and Fort Wilderness Resort.  By Tuesday the blaze, which flared to approximately 3.5 to 5 acres of property, had been largely contained.  The cause of the fire is believed to be a lightening strike.
