Disney Channel Cancels ‘Girl Meets World’

Disney Channel has announced that Girl Meets World has been cancelled.
The show, a spinoff of ABC’s Boy Meets World, will end after its third season this year.
The news of the cancellation was announced by the show’s writers’ Twitter account.
After the third season of filming had recently wrapped the stars had posted their own good-bye messages on social media – which makes the announcement not that surprising.
Girl Meets World told the stories of Cory and Topanga’s daughter Riley and her best friend Maya.
The series finale is set to air January 20.

Disney Channel’s ‘Girl Meets World’ Airing Special Episode ‘Girl Meets Farkle’ on September 11

Disney Channel is presenting a special episode of Girl Meets World on September 11 that will both entertain and educate families.
In the episode, Riley, Maya, and Lucas rally around their friend Farkle who might be on the autism spectrum.
Three experts consulted on the episode to ensure it was an authentic storyline. The experts are: : Elizabeth Laugeson, Psy.D, The Help Group; child development consultant Arthur Pober, Ed.D.; and Shiela Wagner, M.Ed., retired, Emory Autism Center.

Disney Channel Original Movie ‘Invisible Sister’ Premieres Friday, October 9

Disney Channel’s newest original movie, Invisible Sister, premieres Friday, October 9 and stars Rowan Blanchard (Girl Meets World) and Paris Berelc (Mighty Med).
The premiere is part of Disney Channel’s annual Halloween-themed ‘Monstober’ programming event.
Invisible Sister is a live-action comedy set in New Orleans during Halloween and follows the story of Cleo, a young science prodigy whose class project accidentally turns her older sister Molly invisible. Disney Channel’s ‘Monstober’ Programming Event Begins October 2

Disney Channel is airing an entire month of Halloween-themed episodes of the network’s most popular series during the Monstober programming event.
This annual programming event begins Thursday, October 2 with hosts Raini Rodriguez and Calum Worthy.

Disney Consumer Products and Kohl’s Announce ‘D-Signed’ Collection

Just in time for back-to-school shopping, Disney Consumer Products and Kohl’s have announced a new line from the tween lifestyle brand D-Signed.
The new apparel line is exclusive to Kohl’s and will offer a mix-and-match assortment of clothes that allow tween girls to create their own style.

Disney Channel Cancels ‘Shake It Up’

There’s another hit show on Disney Channel’s chopping block. The network recently announced that it has canceled Shake it Up after a 78-episode run.
The show, starring Zendaya and Bella Thorne debuted in 2010 and is the number TV series for among kids ages 6-11 and tweens ages 9-14. Disney Star Sabrina Carpenter Joins ‘Girl Meets World’ Cast

Sabrina Carpenter, whose previous Disney credits include voice roles on Phineas and Ferb and Sofia the First, has joined the cast of Girl Meets World.
Carpenter will play the role of Maya Fox, lead character Riley Matthews (Rowan Blanchard’s) best friend. The show will begin production next month, and both Ben Savage and Danielle Fishell are reprising their original Boy Meets World roles in the new series.
